Let’s talk all things Uber Eats!
First of all, what is Uber Eats?
Probably you already know but if not, it’s an online and app-based food delivery service. It’s already available in 254 North American cities, and growing! It’s sure to be near you soon.
How do you use it?
If you’re new to Uber, you install the app, sign up, and then place your first order! If you’re already signed up for Uber Rider, then there are only two steps to start using Uber Eats. You install the app and place your first order! If you’re using a desktop computer, you’ll be directed to an Uber Eats sign up page. If you’re on a mobile device, you’ll be directed to the app store – either Android or iOS. And then it’s the easy way to get the food you love delivered:
- Browse. You can choose from hundreds of restaurants on Uber Eats. When you’re using your app, you can scroll through your feed for inspiration, or you can search for a particular restaurant or type of cuisine. Then tap to add something you want to your cart.
-
Order. When it’s check out time, you’ll be able to see your address, an estimated delivery time, and the price of the order that includes tax and fees. If it all looks correct, just tap Place Order, and that’s it! The app will automatically use your card on file so you won’t ever need cash.
-
Track. You can track your order in the app, from when the restaurant accepts it and starts prepping it, to when it’s almost ready. Then, a nearby Uber delivery partner – in a car, on a bike, or on a scooter – will go to the restaurant to pick up your order and will then drive or ride to you. You’ll be able to see their name and photo, and you can track the order’s progress on the map.
Uber Eats perks:
Uber Eats makes it so that getting great food from your favorite local restaurants is as easy as requesting a ride. It’s available seven days a week, whenever restaurants near you are open and accepting orders. And they have partnered with top restaurants in your area to bring menus to customers. You can get your order right to your door, or if it’s easier to walk outside and meet your delivery partner, that’s also an option.
The basics of getting started!
- Download the app, add your delivery address, and choose from the full menu of your area’s best restaurants.
-
Place your order and follow along as it’s prepared and delivered.
-
Restaurants using Uber Eats offer different meals at varying prices on the app – fees are based on several factors, but you’ll always see the fee upfront. That way you know what you’re paying before you order.
-
Do you tip? You will have the opportunity to tip your delivery partner in the app at checkout and after your meal is delivered. Tipping is optional.
-
Lastly, you can rate your experience each time you order – just like how you rate an Uber ride.
OK, I seriously didn’t know about Uber Eats and just learned something new here today. Now, I need to give this a try and see which local restaurants use this here 🙂
How lame is it to admit I have never used Uber, but in preparation for my trip I have installed the app and I have plans to use it. I don’t know what took me so long. Maybe before I go though i should order some tacos……
