This one is more lighthearted, although not more light-lunged! One Valentine’s Day, I had bronchitis or something like it. I don’t know what it was but I was pretty sick, and my sister had the same symptoms that I had, and she was diagnosed with bronchitis. That said, we once both had chigger poisoning and she missed three days of work for it, while I powered through with anti-itch spray. I digress, though. Bronchitis on Valentine’s Day. It’s like.. my favorite holiday.
So I thought it would be a good idea to eat Lucky Charms when I was really ill, because we only got to have “junk cereal” a few times a year. That didn’t go well. I took to bed with both throat pangs and stomach pangs. That didn’t stop me from getting THREE heart-shaped boxes of chocolate that year. I couldn’t enjoy them for a few days, but I could enjoy the fact that I had wished upon every star to have my first heart-shaped box of chocolates, and finally got all three. One was from my awesome dad, one was from my sister – who had already recovered from bronchitis – and one was from a boy from school. ooh ahh. I was 13. And that’s it. Be careful what you wish for – you just might get three of ’em! And I ate each box. Bronchitis be darned.
