Since my first child was born, nine years ago, I’ve absolutely delighted in being a mama. I care about the health of myself – to be there for them – and I care deeply about their health. I’m proud to be partnering with DocuSol® Kids on this post.
I feel like we’re dodging germs left and right. We got together with so many loved ones in the beginning of winter – and many of the little ones were sick. Now my kids go to school every day, as well as after-school activities, play dates, parties, and more! Not to mention that we flew to Florida and back last week and could hear coughing all through the flights. No doubt parenting during cold and flu season can be tougher when you’re focused on keeping your kids well, and making sure they have plenty of rest. Like many parents – I want my kids to have it all. Hard work, play, and happiness.
5 Tips to Keep Your Child Healthy on the Inside:
1 – Encourage imagination, play, and exercise. It’s amazing how similar it is to us adults! If you move your body, your body improves! And that definitely includes digestion. My kids seem to have endless energy and I LOVE that.
2 – Encourage your kid to wash their hands consistently, and not only that, but WELL. Raise your hand if you have a kid who runs water for a second, maybe sticks the tips of their fingers under it, and then shouts, “I’m done!” Yeah… no. My kids have to use good, old-fashioned soap and warm water – up to their wrists – and for 30 seconds, at least! Kids can’t wash their hands all day long, but we emphasize hand washing before meals, after using the bathroom, after playing with our pets – especially our chickens – and after sneezing, coughing, etc. I’ve definitely seen a difference lately!
3 – Always offer healthy meals and snacks, and limit exposure to added sugar. That said, don’t ban junk food or label foods as “good” or “bad.” We make sure to allow occasional “junk food” – along with many healthy options – so that kids don’t see foods as forbidden, and therefore more desirable. I didn’t have the same experience as a kid and I suffered for it!
4 – Sleep and vitamins. Yes, I totally put these together. That’s because #5 is pretty important, so #4 has to be powerful too! My kids take multi-vitamins and a daily probiotic. And they keep a consistent bedtime. I think they need it!
5 – We keep DocuSol® Kids on hand at home. It is designed for general constipation relief and is safe and effective for children aged 2-12. Plus, it provides relief within 15 minutes. And since it works within 2-15 minutes, there is no waiting overnight. As my husband says, why wait overnight when DocuSol® Kids provides relief within 15 minutes? *Source: Federal Register / Vol. 50, No. 10 / Tuesday, January 15, 1985 / Proposed Rules; pgs. 2124-2158.

There are issues I came across while babysitting, so I was more prepared in that way to provide relief for kids. Now that I have kids, I’m thankful to DocuSol® Kids for providing my kids with fast and easy relief. And they absolutely love the giraffe on the box! Des has a stuffed giraffe (above) that he sleeps with every night, thanks to DocuSol® Kids.
