I don’t know about you, but in my house we are already talking about back to school!

To be fair, my kids were ready for back to school the day before summer vacation began! They loved the school year. Des flourished in kindergarten – learning how to read and socialize and buy school lunch (as long as I packed good snacks). Scarlet had a wonderful 3rd grade teacher and class – who all worked together cohesively and kindly. It was a bit of a magical unicorn of a school year. When I went to pick my kids up on the last day of school, I was expecting exuberant and excited kids, and both were a bit sad to let go of the school year. I’m not sure they really understood the wonder of summer – with its fireflies (fairies), fireworks, and FUN. Luckily on that last day of school, I had made a special trail mix that I’m also using for summer camp and back to school. You could say it’s now a family favorite among all of us:

And the secret ingredient is absolutely Welch’s Fruit ‘n Yogurt Snacks in the Strawberry flavor. They have fruit as the first ingredient, AND, they deliver the delicious taste that kids love. They come in Strawberry, Blueberry, and Cherry (0.8 oz pouches in an 8 count box) and they are THE go-to choice for back to school. They are fun to eat for kids and adults and it’s never too early to think about back to school time, and what might make the kids more excited. I know mine are!

So I made my fun recipe because this is the snack of choice for the back to school routine. And whether mom packs Welch’s Fruit ‘n Yogurt snacks in her kid’s lunchbox or in her purse, the whole family enjoys this delicious snack on the go.

It seems strange that so many fruit snacks out there ignore fruit – the key ingredient! That’s why we love that Welch’s is listening and putting fruit at center stage. Their Fruit Snacks and Fruit ‘n Yogurt snacks are not only made with real fruit, but fruit is their first ingredient. That’s why we’re using Welch’s to make awesome trail mix.
