Sugar Cookies From Scratch: Bakery Style Confetti Cookies
Sugar Cookies From Scratch: Bakery Style Confetti Cookies
If you love cookies like I do, you’re going to love this recipe. Sugar cookies from scratch are the way to go, and these are bakery style! My husband spent most of Sunday baking up cookies (Corn Flakes Marshmallow and Toffee Chocolate Chip) and I think we should add this recipe to the mix. These cookies are delicious. You can have them ready pretty quick, and all you do is drop them on the cookie sheet. Then, wait for them to bake into soft chewy little pillows of luscious cookies. You’ll definitely want to keep this recipe handy, so you can make them when you just need cookies! And when you’re done with these, here’s another fun sugar cookies recipe! What You Need:
1 tsp of baking powder
1 tsp of baking soda
2 1/2 cups of flour
1 1/2 cups of sugar
1 Tbsp of vanilla
1/2 tsp of salt
1 large egg
1 1/2 sticks of butter
What You Do:
1 – In the bowl of a stand mixer, cream the butter, sugar, vanilla, and egg, until light and fluffy.
2 – Then, scrape down the sides of the mixing bowl, and mix again.
3 – In a separate bowl, mix the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt, until well blended.
4 – Add the flour mixture to the mixing bowl a little at a time, mixing between additions until all of the flour mixture and butter mixture have been blended thoroughly.
5 – Then, scrape down the sides of the mixing bowl, and mix again until well blended.
6 – Remove the mixing bowl, and chill dough for 15 minutes in the refrigerator; and then turn oven to 350 degrees.
7 – Line two cookie sheets with parchment paper, and set aside.
8 – Then, place colored nonpareils in a small dish.
9 – Remove cookie dough from refrigerator, and roll into 2 inch balls, then roll balls in nonpareils, and place on the parchment paper.
10 – Bake for 10 – 12 minutes for chewy cookies, or 13-15 minutes for darker, crunchier cookies.
11 – Remove the cookie sheets to a wire rack and cool for 10 minutes before removing cookies to finish cooling. Enjoy!
