Right now, we’re working on our Spring DEEP Cleaning. We’re doing it in waves and stages – kind of like how the weather has been – as it eases from winter into spring. On a day like today, with fresh air flowing throughout the house and with sunlight shining on the items of the house, it’s gorgeous and uplighting. HOWEVER, it also reveals the dust, dirt, grime, wear and tear of the previous season! For me, it’s a day to put more thought and heart into spring cleaning. And how to do it faster and better! And we need a trip to Sam’s Club for Dawn Ultra!
At Sam’s Club, you can find Dawn Ultra Concentrated Dish Detergent and Dawn Ultra Total Clean – Lemon. We love both, but when doing our weekly weekend morning shopping on Sunday, we decided to try Dawn Ultra Total Clean – Lemon, because it’s trying something new.
Spring Cleaning 2019: Get it Done Faster and Better:
What to love about Dawn Ultra? One drop of this concentrate contains three times the power of the leading bargain brand, and the powerful formulation makes it possible to use even less than ever before. At Sam’s Club or at SamsClub.com, you can get the extra-large 90 oz. bottle, which is equal to 11 refill bottles – *compared to 8oz. bottles – allowing for more clean dishes with less waste. That’s awesome! For Spring Cleaning, you’ll need 50% less scrubbing, the products contain 3x more grease cleaning power (cleaning ingredients per drop vs. non-Ultra Dawn). Dawn’s powerful new formula helps get you through more dishes with less dishwashing liquid! Just use a drop of Dawn and the grease is gone! And get it done faster too!
As for Dawn Ultra Total Clean, Lemon Twist (24oz, 3pk), it has an invigorating scent as well as 35% more cleaning power vs the leading bargain brand. And it has 3X MORE grease-cleaning power per drop*, so you can get through more dishes with less. *Cleaning ingredients per drop vs. the leading bargain brand.
Also, beyond spring cleaning 2019, we have summer coming too! And think of all those summer BBQs and parties that are coming up. Think of all the dishes you’ll be doing. Yeah. We’ll be ready with Dawn Ultra!
Dawn Cleans Beyond the Dirty Dishes in the Sink:
What does that mean? For me, it means cleaning the items we may not get around to on a normal basis – whether that’s daily, weekly, or monthly.
1 – The blender gasket.
Boy, this one is important! And I had NO idea about it. I ignored it constantly while just cleaning the obvious inside of the glass part of the blender. Think about how many smoothies, purees, and other recipes your blender helps you with! The gasket or the rubber ring alone can carry salmonella, E. coli, yeast, mold, and probably much more. So, unplug your blender, take the pieces apart, and clean them with a sponge and warm soapy water.
2 – Food storage containers.
I have to admit that I always “think” I’m doing a great job with these, until they’re dried, and I can see that the rubber seals are still harboring germs when not washed properly. How do you do it better? Use warm/hot, soapy water and make sure you really clean the area around the seal – and any grooves where the cover attaches to the bottom part of the container. This is key! I can’t tell you how many times I thought it was thoroughly cleaned, but it wasn’t.
3 – Fridge compartments.
Fridge compartments as a whole are prone to mold and decay. The germiest spots in the fridge are probably the vegetable drawers and/or meat compartments. Remove the drawers, rinse them, and wash them thoroughly with a clean sponge and Dawn Ultra soap. Dry with a clean towel or paper towel.
4 – Knife blocks.
You have probably been chopping, paring, slicing, and dicing foods all winter. You probably wash your knives with great care – but then re-contaminate them when you place them back in the knife block. Remove your knives, turn your knife block upside down to get rid of crumbs, and then wash the block by hand in warm, soapy water with a good sponge and a small brush for the slots.
5 – Electric can openers.
In this house, I’ve been known to use a can opener and then put it straight back in its drawer! I’ve also used our electric one without washing after. Wash both (unplugged first) with warm, soapy water after each use
