Sowing The Seeds Of Love.

No doubt, it’s a weird week with a weird rhythm.

Last week there were things that were nitpicking at my brain and I even said aloud, “I’ll be so happy when these three things stop nitpicking at my brain because logically, I know they’re silly, but they won’t stop nitpicking at my brain just the same.” And I’m not even being vague because they’re almost not worth mentioning but they were mostly work related and health related and Scarlet had a cough that was going over two weeks and I get REALLY messed up by those because she had a really bad cold when Des was born. She couldn’t visit him in the NICU and the cough wouldn’t go away and required an inhaler after three weeks. It was the last we ever had of bad coughs or inhalers for temporary use, but it always still nitpicked at my brain.

Sometimes, some things – they nitpick. So I’m cooling off on doing 5-6 posts this week, for the first time in ages, and putting myself in photo-editing prison to finish up 5-6 photo sessions, before the new ones come along. Because that foliage? Is AMAZING this week, and next week, and maybe next. And I can’t seem to stop shooting, and I can’t seem to stop editing, or eating soup, or letting things nitpick my brain, and then letting them stop. And I can’t stop doing things for myself, like treating myself to pie. And writing texts that make me smile. Hot showers and cool sleep. And I’m wearing purple pants.

According to the Tuesday Ten girls, it’s National Photographer Appreciation Month. I’m certainly trying to appreciate myself, but where that fails, I’ll appreciate photography today. I decided to link up and show you ten photos I’m working on today.

The Liebers

I like to believe it’s like sowing the seeds of love, and really, I’m just lucky enough to watch it unfold.

  1. Totally have this song now stuck in my head, but great song to indeed have on loop. Oh and your photos are as always more amazing than amazing. Someday I will have you photograph my family and is on my bucket list as you already know! πŸ˜‰

    1. Thanks! Jane.com! They have them in like 20 colors at least a few times a week. I can’t get enough. I’m wearing the same ones in burgundy right now.

  2. I was hoping you would link up with this one! I have to say that I am so done having kids – have been done for years – BUT, those shots just sent a little tingle though my ovaries! And, that is saying a lot because, seriously, so very, very done. πŸ™‚ Absolutely precious!

    1. Me too! Two weeks in a row of linking up! I’m loving that.
My ovaries totally hurt by looking at these, especially since I’m not sure we’re done. I’m sure we’re done right now, but I don’t have that much time to waste.

    1. I agree! I love that they did that because it wasn’t prompted. Well the older one was mugging for the camera, but it was a natural moment and I loved it!
The purple pants are on Jane.com!

  3. I hope Scarlet’s cough is gone now, Tamara. I love all of the photos you just posted here. I liked “Sowing The Seeds Of Love” the very first time I heard it on WPRB the Princeton University radio station, and I remember this video won 2 MTV Video awards, and one was for these magical fantasy world special effects. So I’m going to enjoy this video for the third time now. Happy National Photographer Appreciation Remainder Of The Month! We really do Appreciate YOU Tamara! πŸ™‚ πŸ’— πŸ“·

    1. I think it is now, Eddie! Thank you! She may still cough once or twice a day, but that’s nothing. This 2-3 week cold was going around school. NOT pleasant!
      I appreciate all of YOU!

  4. I love this song! No joke I just blared it yesterday while cleaning the house! Anneliese was really jamming along! What beautiful moments you captured here! I am glad you are going to get a small break this week. Hopefully the brain nitpicks can go away πŸ™‚

    1. Me too! I totally have been doing that. I’m pretty much done editing the set and I miss it. Luckily I did another sweet newborn today and there’s another one on Saturday!

  5. Awww, I love the photos Tamara. Now I’m going to go check out your other website. I didn’t know there was such a thing! And that will be a little bit like Christmas, I can’t wait to see your work. I will appreciate your photography, lol!

Also, I didn’t recognize the song at first, and then I was like, “oh yeah, I remember.” I’d forgotten all about it, what a shame to not have heard it again especially because I like it.

And I get it, almost nothing gives me more joy than taking a photo of someone or giving them a photo of their loved one and just knowing that they love it. Some photographs are beautiful, some photographs take your breath away – and I always want to share that.

    1. I appreciate your appreciation! And I appreciate your photography too! I have to update the website every so often, especially after this last month or so. Two weddings and a whole lot of other things!

  6. Oh I just HATE THE NITPICKING!!! I get it. I hope that buzz leaves soon, honey. I hope scarlet’s cough gets better and I know so well the association with memories that stir the worry that similar things will arise… NO inhaler! I pray it stays that way.

You have been kicking out SO many posts!! I can’t KEEP UP! I will wind my way around as soon as I can. The kids are off again for Thursday and Friday this week too. (Same last week.) And sports is taking all my weekends away. Just too much LIVING going on here to blog… ya know? (Not that blogging isn’t living! Of COURSE it is!) I just can’t be at my laptop as much right now… and THAT is nitpicking at my brain.

So much to do… so much to do…

The pictures are breathtaking. I can’t wait to see your fall foliage pics!!

    1. Thank you! No inhaler! It went away after two weeks, but it was scary. I guess with the other one, she was only three and they use albuterol (spelling?) for medicine sometimes. I had no idea. I pray for no inhalers for you guys! Or at least, long periods without it.

I have totally been blogging too much, so I’m going easy this week so I can do photos more. I appreciate you even trying to keep up. No worries. I love when you visit, and understand if you can’t!

    1. I was so sure I had used this song title as a post title before, but nope! How could I have missed it? It’s like my favorite!
      Thanks about the photos!

  7. So lovely to see your photos! And I have very similar boots πŸ™‚ It’s good to take a break or rather focus on one thing at a time. I’ve learned to do that myself and not spread myself too thin.

    1. I so love sharing the photos! My blog is so often filled just with the personal ones, and they are so different to me. Total different technique. Fun to share BOTH!
Taking breaks is vital to me.

    1. Thank you! When I see a photo I particularly like, I tend to edit it in color but then save a copy in black and white too. I did that a lot with this session.

  8. Your photos are amazing! Especially the ones with the two children and the others with the baby. How you (or anyone) manages 5-6 posts a week I’ll never know, I battle to find the time to write two!

It is okay to take a step back sometimes. The nitpicking could well be your brains way of telling you to go easy on yourself . Don’t stop the clicking and editing or the soup eating or the writing things that make you smile, just ease up with letting things get to you.

    xx

    1. I used to do three a week and that felt like a lot. Then I ramped it up a bit. I needed it to feel active. Now I’m in a big photography time so I have to slow down the writing. It gets nutty!
Taking steps back is amazing.. and definitely wards off the nitpicking.

So nice to see you here again!

  9. Such beautiful photos. I have issues with nitpicking too. I’ve been treating myself to too many mini-Snickers (bought the Halloween candy too early), but pie sounds better. I love the purple pants!

  10. Enjoy this passion and gift of yours! The leaves here today are STUNNING! I’m just standing outside in the sun, inhaling:)

  11. OMG purple pants.
Have I ever told you the story of my aunt and the time she bought my sister a pair of purple leather pants so large that it probably took out at least three farms of cattle to make that one pair of pants. They were hideous and we loved them. Of course no one could wear the pants because they were so massive. They just laid there looking all sad. Moooo-purple.
    But your pants are rocking.
Kick back and enjoy the good things. Your photos are stunning. Look at that wrinkly old man baby. Makes me giggle.

    1. We should be purple pants twins.

See this baby is at least lovely and she has good hair. We used to call Des, “Angry Old Man Bowman.”
      Clearly he has changed some.

    1. Wow, thank you! It’s fun to edit in the beginning when everything is new and you get to see what you did. Then it can drag in the middle and pick up again at the end. It’s just never-ending.

  12. First of all I need those purple pants. It’s my school color and it’s homecoming week and I’m trying to wear as much purple as possible. I think it’s a job requirement. Also, if the foliage gets any prettier, I am likely to drive off the road while looking at it!!

    1. Well, shoot. I don’t think you can get them in time for homecoming but Jane.com! They have them all the time. I bought them in gray, navy blue, blue, fuschia and.. black. I’m not obsessed or anything.

I hear you about the foliage!

  13. Glad to see that you are still ging strong on the photography. I am enjoying the break. I just bought a new camera for food shots and havent done any. lol Oh well, I blame going to Disney World !

    1. I definitely do enjoy photography breaks.. as well as writing ones! I don’t seem to do longterm breaks with either. Boo. We are totally going to Disney World soon, though, so I will blame it.

  14. note to self: get purple pants. LOVE
The one of the siblings in the leaves – gorgeous. what a great idea.
I got lots of brain nit picking going on…..I also got lots of Skittles. Life is balance, right?

    1. Jane.com, baby! They have them at least once or twice a week for like.. 12 bucks. I may have also just bought them in cranberry.. and royal blue.. and.. and..
      Life is balance. Yes.

  15. Awww, I love the photos!! They truly capture the emotions. I wish to buy a new camera to practice taking photos, hopefully soon. I have to save! πŸ˜€

  16. Wow, I haven’t heard this song in YEARS. It’s an oldie and goodie. Thanks for getting it stuck in my head πŸ™‚

Also you are such an amazing/incredibly gifted photographer. Babies and weddings and kiddies and fall! So many beautiful things to photograph this time of year–I think it’s great that you’re giving yourself a much needed break to focus on some of the beauty of the season. Hope you have a beautiful weekend, my sweet!

    1. I’ve been on a Tears for Fears kick this month. And like.. for 15 years!!
Thanks about the photos. I get all weird about photography and writing, and then doing one more than the other, and than worrying about one more than the other.
      Clearly, I need a break.

  17. It HAS been a really weird rhythm, nitpicky week hasn’t it? I feel like I can’t quite get into the right rhythm or state or mind. But these photos – these moments that you’ve captured are so gorgeous. And this song – ahhh, so good!

    1. Thank you! I really hope so. It’s like I want to do everything all the time. I’m learning to slow it down for October, but man, the foliage shoots. I can’t slow those down.

  18. Oh my goodness, so much cuteness! Between babies, and weddings and the sincerest of smiles. I hope that Scarlet is feeling better. Nebulizers and inhalers and all those things are so frightening for parents. I can’t imagine how hard it must have been to see both your children needing such care at the same time.

    1. It was very scary! They prescribe inhalers just for temporary use sometimes but I didn’t know that! So I thought they were diagnosing her with asthma.
