I’m talking daily life. Like this one time, Scarlet and I were trying on these cute red headbands at a local clothing store. I tried on a red headband with a red flower, and a passing woman said, “You look just like Snow White!” And that was that. SOLD! I bought that red headband right then and there. If someone tells me something makes me look like Snow White, Red Riding Hood, or more recently – Mrs. Claus – I’m pretty sold. Except maybe, a young Mrs. Claus. I mean, come on.
Today I want to celebrate that I’ll be in Disney World in a month, but really, who’s counting? Maybe I’ll see my girl – Snow White. People always called my sisters Snow White because my older sister loved to dress like her, and my younger sister had the perfect Snow White hair. And there I was – biding time and honing my craft. I had the dark hair, the fair skin, the rosy cheeks, and the ability to make birds and woodland creatures sit on my shoulder. Ask me about that one in another blog post that’s not about cupcakes, because it really happened. I once sang in the sunbeam from an open window, and my roommate’s parakeet sat right on my shoulder.
Snow White Cupcakes:
What You Need:
6 prepared or homemade cupcakes (yellow liner)
1 can white frosting
Red, green, black chocolate melting discs
Blue food coloring
Edible shimmer beads (just need the blue)
What You Do:
1 – First, take about 1/3 cup of the green chocolate discs and melt according to package directions, and then place in a sandwich size baggie and snip the corner just a tiny bit. Pipe chocolate into the leaf section of the apple.
2 – And then repeat step 1 with the black chocolate but pipe into the stem section of the apple.
3 – Take about ½ cup of the red chocolate discs and repeat step 1. Fill in the apples on the mold and be careful not to spill too much over the sides. Let harden for about an hour and then pop out of the mold.
4 – Place frosting in a medium size bowl and add 8-10 drops of blue food coloring, and mix well. Then, place frosting in a piping bag or quart size baggie. You can either just snip the corner and pipe on or use a star tip. Either one works great.
5- Then, place 7-8 blue shimmer beads around the frosting and top with an apple.
6 – And lastly, serve and enjoy!
