Mine has been all over the place. First it’s hot. Then it’s cold. And I have a lot of work to do and have been traveling lately. I will say that 2019 has been a great year for working less late at night. And this does help sleep. At the end of 2018, I was sometimes working past midnight – just to get all my Q4 work done, and all my client photos edited. And forget personal writing and photography! Sometimes they would happen at 2 or 3am! And as we know – sleep is a critical component of any parent’s success story. And I’ve been working hard on bettering mine.
Simple Tips on How to Sleep Better:
1 – Get more natural light during the day. And if that’s not possible – as in you live somewhere with more darkness (which we’ve been having), invest in an artificial bright-light device or bulbs. This makes a world of difference!
2 – And, reduce blue light exposure during the night. You know what I’m talking about – screens, screens, and more screens! This doesn’t necessarily mean to stop working or reading your phone at night. Sometimes that’s not an option. However, you can use glasses or even apps to block the blue light from your eyes. If possible, try to avoid TV watching and computer screens two hours before bed.
3 – Reduce or eliminate caffeine later in the day, and try to finish eating by 8pm or even earlier. I know I sometimes get late night snacks and then I’m up for hours more.
4 – Try to settle into a consistent bedtime and wakeup time. It doesn’t have to be perfect but a routine does signal to your body when it’s time to go to bed if you are consistent.
This is one I’ve been working hard on!
5 – Take a Melatonin supplement, or talk to your doctor about other supplements that help.
6 – Exercise regularly, but not before bed.
7 – Take a nice relaxing bath in the evening. I love to add bubbles, lavender oil, Epsom salts, and a really good magazine!
8 – Invest in a comfortable mattress and pillow. It’s May, which is Better Sleep Month (supported by the Better Sleep Council) and that’s why JUVEA is here to help you get the sleep you need.
Also, JUVEA believes that everyone deserves extraordinary sleep, so they can wake up feeling rejuvenated. That’s why their sleep products are made from pure, 100% natural Talalay latex – harvested from the Hevea tree. These pillows are proudly designed and manufactured right in the USA and offer a healthy product for you and your family.
Talalay latex is inherently resistant to mold and mites, and is certified OEKO-TEX Class 1 baby-safe. They have a uniquely buoyant open-cell structure construction that provides consistent, responsive support and breathability and offers unique pressure relief to free you from neck pain. Plus, the long-lasting pillows don’t flatten over time! That means you can look forward to longterm comfort and wellness.
Each JUVEA natural pillow is pressure and weight-tested for consistency and quality throughout the manufacturing process. It doesn’t leave the factory if it doesn’t meet their standards! When you sleep on a JUVEA pillow, you rediscover daily what sleep was always meant to be – natural, effortless, and completely restorative!
I was really happy to try my JUVEA pillow. I have trouble sleeping in the spring sometimes because of pollen allergies, and having an opposite schedule from Cassidy. It took me a few days to get used to my pillow, but I’ve noticed less neck pain and waking up easier. It’s even easier to stand up. I no longer feel like I have a constant case of the Mondays!
