I have had blonde and grey hairs under the top layer of my hair for as long as I can remember. I’ve kept my hair super long for over a decade, and the hair on the ends has gotten lighter over time and with sun exposure. A not-nice, two-tone sort of thing. I was sick of it. I was ready for something new for winter. I’m in my 30s and I’ve always had thick and glossy hair. I thought it would break my heart to color it, but the experience was anything but heart-breaking. It was actually pretty fun and easy because I used Revlon® ColorSilk Beautiful Color™ in Dark Brown!
I had to change the part in my hair to the right because the front left gets little gray hairs. I don’t know if the general population notices them the way I do but they really irk me. Since I love my hair so much, I did a lot of research as to what I’d buy for my hair, and I can’t lie – there were many mishaps along the way. I feel like we’re at a comfortable place right now. Love!
For me, it’s all about the ease of doing it at home – like takeout hair color! And it’s about using an affordable and effective product. Revlon® ColorSilk provides 100% gray coverage (or blonde, gray and light brown, in my case) and is available at all major retailers nationwide! It’s ammonia-free and I love that it provides long-lasting high definition color and shine. I love my headbands, but not when they’re used to cover my inconsistent color here:
Hair Coloring at Home:
Revlon® ColorSilk is a specially blended, permanent hair color formula that includes the Revlon 3D Color Gel Technology™. This technology delivers natural looking, multi-tonal color from root to tip – not only boosting your hair color, but also adding definition and dimensionality. The formula also has nourishing silk proteins, which leaves your hair in better condition than before you colored it. After you color, there’s an ultra-hydrating creamy conditioner that highly nourishes hair and provides optimal shine and care.
Now for me, ColorSilk Dark Brown is my best match. And the directions are so easy to follow! Make sure you’re wearing gloves when you color your hair, they’re even provided in the box! Mix the color according to the instructions provided. You can divide your hair into 2-4 sections and secure each section with a clip. I have really long hair so I can’t skip this. You have the option to touch up your hair, or dye all of your hair! Then you wait 20-25 minutes, rinse it all out, and apply the conditioner. It was incredibly easy! I was able to color my hair and then get some writing done while I waited.
