I am quite bad at adapting naturally to the transition. Summer is for sleeping in, as much as Des lets us, anyway. It’s for spontaneous road trips, trailside ice cream, and juicy berry picking. It’s too bad there’s not an easier way to go from that to the days of 9:00am soccer practice, Back to School nights, colds and other viruses, and regular homework time. With one going to 4th grade and one to 1st grade, I can’t relax into autopilot quite yet. Scarlet is really good at making her own lunches and managing her own schedules, but Des is only a full year into elementary school. I’m still learning my way.
They began with a simple idea – to make healthy snacks accessible to all – and that’s why joy and optimism are baked into each and every delicious and nutritious bite, made with real fruit and satisfying grains. These fig bars are the perfect on-the-go whole snack – fit for the whole family. Obviously, you know I think about snacks that I can enjoy too! Of course.
Their bars are wholesome, made with real fruit and whole grains, soft-baked, sweet (but not too sweet), satisfying, Non GMO-Project Certified, certified vegan, dairy free, soy free, nut free, and made with no high fructose corn syrup.
Also, they’re awesome. Being a parent is a full-time job and a juggling act. That’s why I prioritize my children’s nutrition with these snacks. And I love anything making our back to school routine a bit, or a lot, easier. These are awesome for breakfast, lunch, snack time, and beyond. Nature’s Bakery Fig Bars are made with the inherent goodness of real, natural and recognizable ingredients. And not only are they healthy, but they’re delicious too. I love to use these wholesome snacks to make fun after school recipes for my kids. That’s why I make these Peanut Butter and Jelly Berry Fig Bar Sandwiches:
What You Need:
Stone Ground Whole Wheat Fig Bars: Raspberry
Stone Ground Whole Wheat Fig Bars: Blueberry
Knife
Peanut Butter
Raspberries
Blueberries
What You Do:
1 – Open the package of fig bars and slice the bars in half – the fig filling is the “jelly”
2 – Spread the inside with peanut butter and then put the bar back together like a sandwich
3 – Top with peanut butter
4 – Then, top with berries
5 – Enjoy!

And that’s it! There are so many instances in which these bars come in handy – when you’re on-the-go, headed to work, at a game, during a busy morning, etc. And my favorite time of day – after school time when it’s special snack time!

Which bar would you want to try?

OK, this is totally ingenious and never would have thought to use these fig bars to make a Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwich! But now I totally am going to try this for us here, too 🙂
Oh how I still love peanut butter and jelly! These look divine – such a cute idea for snacks! I want to try the Blueberry one!
What a great idea for an after-school snack! Thanks.
My husband and daughter love these fig bars. I think they have loved every flavor they have tried.
Oh yum! I would eat so many of these. I love snacks with berries.
Hi Tamara, I’m rather partial to fig rolls, they are a flashback from my childhood. Sandwiched with peanut butter with an addition of berries?… Sounds good to me!
