Parenting can be such a hard game to master, and the ins and outs of it can be enough to drive parents insane, especially during the newborn phase. The newborn phase is a time where you’re at your wits end trying to get them into a good sleeping routine, you’re trying to get your own sleeping routine under control which is impossible, and you just generally feel like you can’t do anything right. But as time goes on, this is something that should phase out. You’ll slip into the routine of being a parent, and you’ll build a bond with your child, and hopefully with your partner, like no other. But it’s no secret that times just don’t seem to get any easier. You have to tackle the terrible twos, the teenage years, and the dread that they’re never actually going to leave your home. But for now, it’s time to think about the era of parenting that you’re going through, and how you can make sure that you’re getting through it with no problems at all. To do so, we’ve come up with a guide that we’re calling parenting 101, and we know that the tricks we’ve got will keep family life happy. So, keep on reading, and see which ones you can take onboard!
Parenting 101: Tricks That Keep Family Life Happy!
Technology Is Your Best Friend
Technology most definitely is going to be your best friend, and it’s a tactic that so many people are using at the minute, not just with parenting. It can prove to be such a good distraction in life, but let’s talk about the benefits and the struggles it can create for parents. First, the biggest benefit is that it gives parents a chance to have a bit of rest bite. The kids of today are growing up in such a technological era, and the more we progress with it, the more you’re going to rely on it. And you should think about using technology such as gaming consoles, which some of you might be already. There are so many different ones out there to choose from, all of which have their benefits. You’ve got video game console deals that will give you a Nintendo Switch with games, which is super interactive and fun to use. Or you’ve got consoles such as the Xbox One, which is more for true gaming, and can actually be risky. Some children are getting so addicted to gaming on Xbox’s and PS4’s, that there are now therapy sessions for it. So make sure that although you are going to be using this as a way to keep them entertained, not to keep them busy for hours on end while you do what you want!
But So Is Family Time!
Family time is something that can be defined so differently from one to the next. Some families aren’t lucky enough to be whole, so family time might just be you and the kids, which is fine. But that doesn’t mean that there shouldn’t be family time in abundance, because that’s when you build the best bond, and make the best memories. So it could be anything from simply taking the dog for a walk if you have one, to going to a theme park for the day. Whatever you choose to do, you should try and aim to have family time every single weekend. The benefits of this are really going to show as your kids get older. At the minute, it might feel like they’re going to love you, and be by your side forever. They’ll me your little minion following you around until they’re ready to leave home, and they’ll never be more excited to spend time with their friends over you. But like it or not, that time will be coming, especially if you have children who are moving towards the teenage years of their life. But as long as you can keep the bond strong, you shouldn’t feel like you’re losing them as they get older. Let’s touch on that a little bit more!
Keeping The Bond Strong
To keep the bond strong, and to keep family life calm, you really need to make sure you’re focusing on that bond and keeping it strong. Some parents go into super protective and rule mode, and the restrictions and rules that children face can lead them to become distant with you over time. So, make sure you’re an ear that listens to their problems, rather than a disciplinary to them. Getting that balance perfect is something you’ll be able to improve over time!
