Today, we marveled at how light it still was outside at 8:30. We also contemplated ice cream for dinner. And today, we had our first dip in the pool. Isn’t that the best? My kids do have camp this summer, but it’s sort of staggered and at least one of the weeks is a virtual comics camp. We otherwise like to live outside all summer long. It’s the New England way, after all! Gardening and playing and swimming and hiking and watching fireflies (or do you call them lightning bugs where you live?) when the sun goes down. Summer is just delicious. When I was little, I thought it was so long, but it must have seemed short to my parents. Especially when you plan camp and travel and realize there are limited weeks if you plan too much. So we’re not planning too much this summer.
