Outback Happy Hour: Times, Weekday Deals and How to Check Your Location
When you are feeding a family of six, you learn to read the fine print on every restaurant deal. So when I started looking into the Outback happy hour, I wanted real answers from Outback itself. I did not want a copied chart from a menu site. What I found is a little more interesting than a simple “3 to 6 p.m.” answer, and it could save you money whether you are going for drinks or dinner.
Deals, prices and policies vary by location and change often. Everything below reflects what Outback published as of September 2026. Always confirm with your local restaurant before you go.
The Short Answer
Outback does not publish one national happy hour that every restaurant follows. Some individual location pages do list happy hour times. For example, the Oxnard, California location page lists happy hour as “Monday – Friday | 3:00 PM – 6:00 PM.” Other location pages show a happy hour icon without listing times at all.
What Outback does promote nationally is a set of weekday deals. The one closest to a happy hour is $5 Bevvy Thursdays. Here is the quick version:
- Happy hour times are set by each restaurant, not by Outback nationally.
- Check your local page at locations.outback.com or call the restaurant.
- $5 Bevvy Thursdays is the main official drink deal, and it is dine-in only.
- Outback also advertises $8 cocktails “all day, every day,” with prices that may vary by location.
What Outback Officially Says About Drink Deals
Outback’s beverage offers page never uses the words “happy hour” in the main content. Instead, it lists two ongoing drink deals.
The first is $5 Bevvy Thursdays. In Outback’s words: “Enjoy $5 bevvies every Thursday from Gold Coast ‘Ritas and The Wallaby Darned® to 22oz domestic drafts.”
The second is the $8 cocktail lineup. Outback describes it this way: “Premium spirits and quality ingredients are hand-crafted to create these fun, flavorful cocktails for just $8 all day, every day.”
The fine print on that page says: “Prices and product participation may vary by location.” That line matters. Your local Outback might price things differently or skip a drink entirely.
The beverages page also mentions a few fun extras:
- Platypus Punch and Puggle Splash, which are color-changing drinks (one has alcohol, one does not)
- The No Worries ‘Rita, a non-alcoholic margarita option
- Kangaroo Court wine, a South Australian Shiraz-Cabernet
- Boozy Bevvies To Go at select locations
How $5 Bevvy Thursdays Works
According to Outback’s weekday value page, $5 Bevvy Thursdays covers a 22oz domestic draft beer, a Wallaby Darned or a Sauza® Gold Coast ‘Rita®. The ‘Rita flavors listed are Strawberry, Watermelon, Mango and Blackberry.
A few rules to keep in mind:
- It runs on Thursdays.
- It is dine-in only.
- Outback says it is “Not valid for online ordering, takeout, curbside” or third-party delivery.
Outback does not list specific hours for this deal on its national pages. If you want to know whether it runs all day at your restaurant, ask when you call.
The Rest of Outback’s Weekday Deals
If you are going for value, the drink deal is only one piece. Outback groups four weekday offers together under “Four Days. Four G’Deals” on its specials page. Here is what each one includes, based on the official weekday value page.
Kids Eat Free Mondays
Outback offers a “FREE kids’ meal with the purchase of an adult entrée” every Monday at participating locations. For dine-in, you mention “FREE JOEY MEAL” to your server. For online orders, you use the code JOEYFREE.
With four kids at home, this is the one that jumps out at me. A free kids’ meal adds up fast when you have more than one little one at the table.
Tuesday Tails
This deal includes a “6oz Center-Cut Sirloin, a buttery Lobster Tail and your choice of two steakhouse sides, starting at just $24.99.” It is dine-in only on Tuesdays. Outback notes that “Prices, product and participation vary by location.”
Walkabout Wednesday
This is the deal that feels most like a classic happy hour pairing. It includes a “6oz Center-Cut Sirloin or Grilled Chicken on the Barbie, plus Aussie Fries and a 16oz domestic draft beer or ice-cold COCA-COLA® product, starting at $13.99.” It is dine-in only on Wednesdays.
There is one catch. The beer part of the offer is “void where prohibited by law” in a list of states. That list includes Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Idaho, Minnesota, Mississippi, Montana, New Mexico, Nevada, Oregon, South Dakota, Tennessee, Utah, Washington and Wyoming, plus airport locations. If you live in one of those states, expect the soda option.
$5 Bevvy Thursdays
This is the drink deal covered above. It is the most “happy hour” of the four, and it is dine-in only.
The Aussie 3-Course Meal
Outback also promotes an Aussie 3-Course Meal “starting at $14.99.” It includes soup or salad, an entrée and dessert.
This menu has been a big part of Outback’s recent turnaround. Restaurant Business reported that Outback posted its first positive traffic growth in nearly four years, largely thanks to the Aussie 3-Course menu. The same report said about 60% of guests upgrade to the higher-priced entrée tiers.
If you are not a drinker, this may be the better value. It is a full meal at a set starting price.
Why Outback Happy Hour Times Vary So Much
Happy hour is often a local decision. Individual restaurants set their own bar schedules, and state and local laws also shape what drink discounts are allowed. That is why one location page can list weekday afternoon hours while another lists none.
Outback’s location pages use a small happy hour icon to show which restaurants offer it. Only some of them list the actual days and times. The Cape Coral, Florida page, for example, promotes the weekday deals but does not show a happy hour schedule.
How to Check Your Local Outback
Here is the fastest way to get a real answer:
- Go to locations.outback.com and search for your restaurant.
- Look for the happy hour icon in the services list.
- Scroll for a happy hour schedule. Some pages list days and times.
- If no times are listed, call the restaurant. The number is on the location page.
- Ask whether $5 Bevvy Thursdays runs all day and whether it is bar only.
It takes two minutes and saves you from showing up at the wrong time.
