We watched two movies in a row, which seemed like a LOT back then, made ice cream sundaes at night, and then had pancakes in the morning. My mom picked me up, and I’m sure we both had been nervous, and just like that – I had made lifelong memories. Seriously, I bring up that slumber party story to my kids. And I also tell them about my sisters having slumber parties that I crashed, and promptly got in trouble for giggling loudly in my sleeping bag! Some things never change.
What makes a great pair when it comes to creating a perfect waffle bar? Why, waffles and whipped cream, of course! We head to Walmart and get Eggo and Reddi-Wip – a match made in heaven. So my daughter has always been a horse girl. It comes with the territory of having a Nana who owns a horse farm. As you know, we LOVE “Spirit Riding Free” on Netflix.
What is “Spirit Riding Free” on Netflix?
“Spirit Riding Free” is set during the 19th century in the small town of Miradero, Texas, and is about a 12-year-old girl named Lucky. Lucky recently recently relocated from the city, and encounters a wild kiger mustang named Spirit. They bond and embark on everyday adventures across the land. There are other friends and horses to love, and wranglers not to love. It’s the perfect series for a slumber party, and that’s why we invited friends over to have a waffle bar with a lot of “spirit.”
How do we add our own “spirit” to my daughter’s awesome slumber party? First, I have to mention that my daughter watches a ton of baking shows and wants to own her own business someday, as well as be a nurse and a teacher. She’ll have such a busy schedule! I love that she helps plan her own parties – and picks out and sets up ingredients for the waffle bar.
Like I said, we love Reddi-Wip and Eggo, and always have. Those are two favorites from my childhood, and I love sharing these items with Scarlet and her friends. Reddi-Wip uses the best dairy cream in original flavors, and uses high-quality coconut cream in non-dairy varieties. Reddi-Wip has less hydrogenated oils than other frozen whipped toppings – real cream is a top priority! Then there’s Eggo. The waffles are warm, fluffy and delicious, and they toast up to a delicious golden crisp in just minutes! Both of these ingredients pair well with many breakfast items, making them perfect for a waffle bar.
My daughter loves to create and style food and her friends do too, making a Slumber Party Waffle Bar a perfect occasion to have fun and bond together. Watching “Spirit Riding Free” on Netflix together sure pairs perfectly with Eggo and Reddi-Wip!
Our Spirit Riding Free Slumber Party Waffle Bar:

Reddi-Wip Extra Creamy
What You Do:
1 – First, toast Eggo Homestyle Waffles according to package
2 – To color the coconut as “carrot sticks”, put 1 teaspoon of water into a small bowl and add 4 drops of yellow food coloring and 1 drop of red – mix together
3 – Then, add 1/2 cup shredded coconut in a resealable bag and pour colored water into the bag
4 – Seal the bag and knead it with your fingers to evenly distribute and color the coconut
5 – Open the bag and pour into your jar

How fun is this? I love to put all the fruits together, and then other toppings like nuts and granola together. The shredded coconut as carrots is really fun for a “Spirit Riding Free” party. The kids love to pretend to eat carrots just like horses do!
