Northwest Naturals Pet Food Review and Giveaway

You’re in for such a treat here! Or rather, your pets are.

My three dogs LOVE Northwest Naturals, and Luna the Cat does too! Basically, this company makes Raw Frozen and Freeze Dried Diets for Dogs and Cats. Such a simple concept and Lucy is a very picky eater but goes crazy for the food and treats. There are a few things you should know about this company and its foods. And to start – why feed your pets raw food? And that’s because raw food provides three essential benefits that cooked pet food cannot compete with: Enzymes – for improved overall health, Amino Acids – for quality protein, and Intracellular Moisture/Cytosol – for better digestion. Your pets can taste the difference, and you can see it.

Ingredients:

Northwest Naturals ingredients (except for Lamb & Green Mussels and Rabbit) are sourced from the USA, inspected and passed by the USDA, and with no added antibiotics or hormones. The Salmon and Whitefish are wild caught, and the Trout is sustainably farmed in the Columbia River in Oregon. The produce comes from local farmers in Oregon and Washington. And more about the HPP process (below) but it inactivates pathogens, like Salmonella, E-Coli, and Listeria.

Northwest Natural Facilities:

This is pretty amazing but they have two eco-friendly facilities in Portland, Oregon. There’s an extensive recycling program, over 876,000 lbs per year. There are energy efficient programs, including equipment, and energy efficiency for LED lighting, refrigeration, and electrical.

And, the Foods!

The dogs and cats love them! There are freeze-dried chicken treats that you can use ONE bag for cats and dogs! That’s fun in my house. And the bags of food have detailed instructions on how much your pets need per day, based on their weight and also life stages. Honestly they make way more products than I even knew at first, and the dogs love each one very much.
