This post is sponsored by Cascade pure essentials. As always, all mom hacks, thoughts and opinions are my own.
No, I don’t believe I am! Now that school is out, I can’t believe how much more chaotic summer vacation is. Not only does camp have different hours (often starts earlier and ends later) than school, but there’s no buying lunch at camp. Basically I’m trying to figure out how to get two kids to camp (luckily the same camps), one dog to daycare, the other dog to happiness, the cats and chickens to breakfast, myself to work, and oh a clean house and a routine as well. That’s it!
Mom Hacks: Time-Saving Tips for Keeping a Clean House with Kids:
First of all, let’s just say that all of these mom hacks can be used year round. It’s just that summer vacation just started and I’m feeling myself being pulled in a million different directions. The good news is that we’re talking about must-haves and household hacks right now. It’s not just about parenting, or about cleaning, but about how it all ties together. And how we find our rhythm and flow, because that’s important. Right now, we’re in love with Cascade pure essentials which is now available at local Walmart stores! Right in the dishwashing section.
So talk to me about Cascade pure essentials:
It’s the perfect pairing between performance because it works hard for a reliable clean, and it’s a product you can feel about. I say this because it’s a simplified formula for the family, and with no tradeoffs. It’s a great product – simple as that. And it’s designed for family – to deliver the consistent clean you expect from Cascade – which is a brand we have used for years. It’s formulated with biobased*, and other thoughtfully selected ingredients. The perfumes in the formula are infused with essential oils and offer a light citrus scent. Plus, pure essentials is Cascade’s only dye-free liquid top. We love that it powers away 24-hour stuck on food.
What else? Zero waste goes to landfills, and there are no phosphates or chlorine bleach. Just pure cleaning power for your family, by the #1 recommended brand in North America.**
*1/3 biobased ingredients
**More dishwasher brands in North America recommend Cascade vs. any other automatic dishwashing detergent brand, recommendations as part of co-marketing agreements
Some more mom hacks:
- Make an all-family shopping list, for the grocery store, hardware store, drug store, etc. Whenever someone uses something up or notices something missing, have them write it down. Now we do cheat on this a bit because we have a smart device with a built in shopping list. There’s nothing like all four family members writing it down, though!
To get really high tech, order groceries online! We have a membership for a local grocery delivery company and there are constant free or low-priced deliveries. I can’t believe how much time this saves in the summer months!
Make your meals for the week on Sunday night. We even get these fun reusable lunch containers with sections and portions and make fun lunches for all of us.
Make it so that your older kids can learn independent skills with meals. When I was seven, I could fully give myself breakfast. My daughter is petite, so we use stools or put things that she can reach.
Use sticky notes to make schedules for the next day the night before. Be sure to put lines to check the items off as you complete them. This is so satisfying!
Have a marker board/chalk board for a master family schedule in the kitchen. We use to love our dry erase board when we were kids. That way we can keep track of every family member’s comings, goings and activities, and we can put a dinner meal plan on there too!
Have a stationary drawer everyone can access. We have blank notecards (moose ones, obviously), return address labels, stamps, and envelopes readily available for every kind of occasion that should need correspondence. Saves SO much time in the post office line.
Enlist family member help. Everything goes quickly when all hands are on deck. The kids are old enough to help with cooking, cleaning, and laundry folding and putting away. That’s big!
And lastly, choose good products that will help your family. We have never ending dishes to wash, so our dishwasher – and our Cascade pure essentials – are our best friends.
Cascade pure essentials are available at Walmart. Right now until June 22nd, be sure to check your local newspaper for a $1 off coupon in the P&G Brandsaver! And find out more about it here.
