I’m here to tell you a tale of new kittens, messy meatballs, messy kids, and excitable dogs. All under one roof.

As you probably know, I grew up as one of five kids and a rowdy dog. We had a white house. It wasn’t white on the outside, but inside, everything in the main living areas was beige or cream or pure white. The only fortunate part of all of this was that the dog was pure white, so you couldn’t see her fur all over the carpet. Only her messes! Now that I’m older with a full house of my own, although not as full as the house I grew up in, I wonder how my parents took care of the carpets.

I wonder if it was a constant struggle, or if they eventually just threw up their hands and gave in to the stains and the wear and the tear. I wonder if they had the incredible products that we have here at home, for tiny kittens and messy meatballs.

I should ask them. Or maybe gift them for Christmas with what we have – a ProHeat 2X Revolution Pet Carpet Cleaner

With an excitable dog of our own, a new kitten who is capable of things we don’t even know yet, plus a three-year-old with a messy meatball love, we need incredible products to clean our house. We get very excited to welcome our family and friends over for holiday celebrations. And with our BISSELL Consumables, we’re able to better tackle those high-traffic and muddy boots-tracking areas, plus our pet spots and stains with utter confidence. How do we prepare our house for holiday gifts?

That’s a five-step program with Walmart to the rescue:

1. Decluttering is key! I’d even say this is a priority.

2. Child-proofing! We have younger nieces and nephews, and friends with little ones.

3. Food! It’s best to have favorites on hand, and some good communal choices. Also, pay attention to allergies/likes/dislikes.

4. Make it a cozy and personal! Have candles, mulling spices, hotel baskets of goodies, and a coffee station for early risers.

5. Clean those floors! We have kids and pets. We have kids and pets who visit. The floors get very messy. And like I said, most of our guest areas have carpeting. Don’t have carpeting in your house? No problem! The BISSELL ProHeat 2X Revolution Pet Carpet Cleaner can be used on soft surfaces that you or your family come in contact with every day, including pet areas and beds, carpet, stairs, area rugs, cushions, couches, upholstery, car seat upholstery, mattresses and others.

The new BISSELL ProHeat 2X REvolution frees up our busy holiday schedules with its Express Clean mode, leaving our carpets dazzling and dry within just one hour. It has a lightweight, maneuverable body that leaves our carpets looking party-ready, and takes no heavy lifting! It has two rotating power brushes and an antibacterial formula will ensure that we (and you) will enter 2016 with a clean slate and an open calendar! And that is just the way I like it for the New Year.

What do we use with our BISSELL ProHeat 2X Revolution Pet Carpet Cleaner?

We use BISSELL Scotchgard Formunla Consumables, of course. Like BISSELL 2X Pet Stain & Odor Remover!

Scarlet lent me her My Little Pony blanket for this photo shoot. That is a blanket that the pets might pee on! The Pet Stain & Odor Remover removes pet stains and soils from the carpet with its patented odor-control technology. Contains Scotchgard.

We also use BISSELL Professional Pet Urine Eliminator Formula.

Athena and Penny lent their shared (not on purpose) bed for this photo shoot. The Pet Urine Eliminator Formula is the best BISSELL pet machine formula for removing strong odors caused by urine. It contains Scotchgard.

  1. Combine both sauces in your crock-pot and stir until combined.
  2. Add meatballs and stir until they are coated with the sauce.
  3. Cook on high for 3 hours.
  4. Enjoy as an appetizer with toothpicks, or serve over spaghetti (or rice) for a main dish.

  1. This Bissell is totally on my wish list this Christmas! Jen’s Guy are you listening?? I had to clean up barf on my hands and knees for an hour last week. No more!! Bissell come save me!

    1. haha, is this thing on? Jen’s Guy?? Are you out there?
I’m sorry about the barf! Was it human barf? That sounds heinous. Cassidy can clean it up as if it’s nothing. I have a panic attack, personally.
Thanks about my cooking skills! Who knew?

      1. Human and it was like an epic episode. The 8 year old didn’t quite make it to the bathroom and the hubs was not home. Yes, Jen’s Guy had better take note or else…..

  2. I didn’t know Earth’s Best made mini meatballs. My kids love the Earth’s Best cookies a lot. I need a carpet cleaner basly and I don’t even have pets. Just two active and messy kids:)

  3. I’m about to make spaghetti and meatballs as I read this! (I’m procrastinating making dinner.) Your meatball recipe is very popular in the Midwest for holiday parties, so I’m sure I’ll eat some in the near future!

    1. I’m so happy you know this recipe! My husband didn’t. I was thinking of making it with turkey meatballs but I just didn’t know.. so organic mini it became!

  4. You know, every time I see a fully carpeted room I shiver. I am thinking of my long haired himalayan (colorpoint) cat (now in cat-heaven) and am very, very grateful that even years ago, I had woodflooring. Just like we do now. I seriously don’t like carpet. Our stairs unfortunately are still covered with carpet, but if I just could get myself to make the time for it, it would be gone in an instant. I guess you get it how much I dislike carpet – LOL – part of the reason being that I would need a machine like this Bissel to keep it clean. And that would mean more work, so – no, no carpet for me if I get to choose 🙂

    1. Our house is mostly wood floors but all the bedrooms are carpeted! I have thought about ripping it out, but I’m not sure we will. We actually got carpeting by choice downstairs for the kids’ playroom. I was surprised! But we have the BISSELL.

  5. I just love Bissell and have one of their carpet cleaner which is a lifesaver. I have my Dyson for the not so bad stuff and the Bissell for when life gets it’s messiest. Ella is still house training and every once in a while she’ll have an accident so it comes in super handy. BTW I am going to try your mini meatballs. I think the kids would just LOVE it!!

    1. ha, that’s funny that you have that. We also have a ranking system and BISSELL is for the biggest messes!
      The meatballs are really awesome.

  6. Your meatballs look yummy!!
I have two area rugs in this house, two, and almost daily I say I wish I could throw them in the wash. I love my furbaby, really I do, but gawh!!! that DAWG!! He thinks the area rugs are his.

  7. I’m sitting here in our living room staring at our dining room floor that is still covered in crumbs from breakfast. I guess you could say I’ve just given up/given into the crumbs and the messes. I’ve also heard great things about meatballs made with grape jelly and barbecue sauce. Now that I think about it, I slacked this week and didn’t follow through on menu plans for tonight, and I have all the ingredients. Thanks for making my dinner plans for me!

    1. ha! I hope it worked out well! Cassidy really loved it. One of my friends uses chili sauce instead of BBQ. Personally I want to find something that will work in place of grape jelly since it’s not my thing as much as my kids.

  8. I shudder to think how dirty my carpets probably are. We did clean them, but the machine was awful and didn’t really do a great job. This looks amazing. And those meatballs sound amazing.

  9. We have all hardwood in our house, but my mother in law’s cats like to pee on her carpet so I need to tell her about this.

  10. We make a sweet chili chicken with sticky rice and the messes the kids make with it is enough to keep me busy!
We have hardwood in the kitchen but carpet through out the house so the mess seems to travel…

  11. We have used the The Pet Urine Eliminator Formula and it really works. My cat like to be a brat and go on the carpet sometimes but this stuff is great! thanks for the giveaway!

I’m going to share that meatball recipe with my mom, she would love it!

  12. I’m really grateful that the only place we have carpet is in our family room in the basement. Hardwood floors seem easier to keep clean than that carpet! I could definitely use the BISSELL ProHeat 2X Revolution Pet Carpet Cleaner for downstairs…and to battle back against the reign of terror our 200lb St Bernard can rule. lol

    1. The meatball recipe is a success with all of my family members! I would never have known the sweetness would be that delicious.
      And it is VERY messy.

  13. Yep, meatballs and pets definitely call for a good cleaner-upper. 😉 I have always liked Bissell, they’re stood the test of time, for sure.

  14. We don’t have pets but my kids can sure make a mess on our carpets. I’d love new carpeting but I think a new Bissell might be cheaper 🙂

  15. Any recipe is a messy recipe if you try hard enough. For us, the messiest is probably tortillas, because there’s flour everywhere when we’re done. Totally worth it, though.
