I was with my older sister at my grandparent’s house, and they taught us how to dip them in creamy peanut butter for the ultimate treat. Now that I’m older and have kids of my own, I remember such sweet memories and get comforted by the fact that I’m making my own with my kids. We believe in everyday adventures and making our time together count. Both kids have school and after-school classes and activities, so I make our weekends together extra special. My kids love games. Their eyes absolutely light up when we play a new game together.
One thing I’ve discovered lately to make our busy lives easier is Peapod shopping. Have you ever done it? There is nothing like hearing that truck come up your driveway—filled with all of the food and supplies (even for pets!) that your household needs to run. And that includes the ingredients for our very fun, and very tasty, Memory Matching Game. You can grab everything you need from Peapod to play! In fact, shop now with Peapod to find out why we love it so much.
Memory Matching Game With HERSHEY’S KISSES Milk Chocolates:
What You Need:
- HERSHEY’S KISSES Milk Chocolates or HERSHEY’S Miniatures Assortment
- Small circular, colorful labels
- Permanent marker
What You Do:
1 – First of all, what you choose to write or draw on the labels will depend on the ages of the kids you’re playing the memory matching game with. I like to choose three label colors and then draw shapes on each color. So I draw two pink hearts, two green hearts, two yellow hearts, and then the same with stars, squares, triangles, etc. If you have older kids and can write in small handwriting, it’s fun to do vocabulary words. Then there’s learning involved.
2 – Stick the labels to the bottoms of the HERSHEY’S KISSES Milk Chocolates.
3 – Set them up as a matching game! I like to do five rows of 8.
4 – Then, play it as a memory matching game.
5 – Lastly, enjoy the game! You can just see my daughter’s eyes light up.
And of course, you can play the same way with HERSHEY’S Miniatures Assortment as well. In that case, you’re not limited to small circular labels. We keep our Kisses and our Miniatures out in bowls for our guests. I like to do that because I remember my grandparents keeping them out in bowls in their Florida house. And I bet my mom has the same fond memories I do. I want to create these memories right now with my kids because I know that they last forever.
Does your family enjoy memory matching games as well? I have clear memories of being super good at them as a kid, and now I’m more rusty. My kids certainly keep me from getting too rusty by playing these games with me now! The whole experience of shopping with Peapod has been enjoyable to me. Knowing I’m getting groceries and supplies we need as well as our favorite Kisses and Miniatures? Such a win!
