Our LEGO Star Wars Birthday Party

Our LEGO Star Wars Birthday Party was a special one.

I don’t even know what made it so special. We’ve had many special birthday parties. We had one for Des for his 7th birthday, but Scarlet chose a trip to Panama instead of a party for her 10th birthday. And with the virus lockdowns potentially continuing through summer, it looks like we won’t have any big parties this summer either. We were actually planning a big trip to California instead, but I won’t blame the virus for taking away all our summer birthday celebrations. Actually, I’ll be in the third trimester by then, so I wasn’t sure I wanted to make big travel plans anyway. And I really want a birthday hot tub, but that’s a pregnancy no-no as well. So let’s just remember this awesome party, and have a cheers to awesome parties we will have in the future.

Our LEGO Star Wars Birthday Party:

We all dressed up!

I think that was the most fun of all. I like a little symmetry personally, although on Halloween we often wind up being four different things that don’t necessarily have to do with one another. Not this time! Scarlet and I both dressed like Rey, and Cassidy and Des dressed like Han Solo.

Entertainment!

There are so many fun things that you could do. Like when we had a Harry Potter party (I need to write about that!) and set up a real Quidditch game, without the flying. That said, our entertainment wasn’t Star Wars themed. Rather, we got a bounce house and hired a magician.

There were a ton of kids there and we wanted some sort of structure. It worked!

Our Decorations:

This is sort of our signature party decoration. Cassidy finds photos on the Internet, uses a projector on cardboard to trace them, and then we paint them and cut them out. That’s it! He’s made some huge ones in his day, but these were not disappointing. When we’re done with them, we usually put them on the local Buy Nothing board for anyone throwing a themed party. Some people even take the cardboard sets for libraries or classrooms! Cassidy will sometimes make up to 20-30. They always set the scene for the party.
