Jazz Loves Disney!

This is a sponsored post from Disney Music and One2One Network. All opinions are my own. And Scarlet and I LOVED it!

I was raised not only on Disney movies, but on Disney music.

Many of us have a special favorite song or movie, and remember long days spent with our parents or in my case – my grandparents. Even as a young adult, during the last visit I spent with my grandmother before she passsed away, I bought her a CD of Disney music. I still have it and while it’s hard to listen to sometimes, I’m happy for the memories it gives me. Every winter, we take the kids to Walt Disney World and we hear all our favorite songs all over again.

Disney Parks

Walt Disney loved jazz music, and paid great attention to the writing of the music for his films. Scarlet and I listened to the Jazz Loves Disney album and her favorite was “Let it Go” by Anne Sila. My favorite, not-surprisingly, is “When You Wish Upon a Star” by Gregory Porter. I love “Let it Go” as well. The album was recorded between Paris, London and Los Angeles and the artists paid beautiful tributes to these songs. You can hear the impact in the songs, and see it in their quotes:

From Anne Sila

“I’m lucky to be part of this beautiful album and honored to share it with artists I have admired for many years. Jazz represents a huge part of my musical path where I keep returning. Disney marked my childhood, like most children, but as an adult I still have a great taste for fairytales and imaginary. Being able to combine both in one album is fun and inspiring. The cherry on the cake was to revisit “let It go” which has been such a success the last few years. It’s a great way to discover those famous tracks and add fantasy and jazz to it. I’m proud to be part of it.”

From Hugh Coltman:

“Having kids who are Toy Story fans and being a fan of Randy Newman, the song choice was really simple for me”
