I was about to spin a poetic tale about love, loss, Cape Cod and cookies, as well as it being my birthday week and the last week of preschool camp, but then I remembered the wonderful email I got recently to tell me that July 22nd is my second SITS Day!
You may be wondering why I’m lucky enough to have a second SITS Day, just a little over a year after my first. I am lucky enough because I am a new Community Lead for this amazing group. I write articles here. And thank you, Janine, for this badge.
Now you may wonder what the heck a SITS Day is. SITS Girls is an online community of over 75,000 women bloggers and counting. It’s a place to support, connect with, and learn from other bloggers on the forums, through tutorials and through featured posts and featured bloggers. SITS Girls shares tips on blogging, photography, social media, SEO, vlogging, and how to make money through paid blogger opportunities. Every weekday, they feature a blogger from their (our?) huge, growing community. Today, I’m so lucky it’s ME! Again. My last SITS Day brought many of you to me, and me to you.
And what does SITS mean to me? Well to put it mildly – a lot! When I came here, a year and a half ago now and counting, I was really ready to connect and find my tribe. Or tribes. What has followed are some of the best connections I could have imagined. (I even know SEVERAL SITS members in real life now) When I say my life is more fulfilling with the SITS community in it, I’m not being corny or exaggerating. Whether you fellow bloggers are moms, or photographers, or writers, or all three like me…or whether we have nothing in common except for blogging, well, you’re here for me. And I’m here for you.
I’m also a writer – education-wise, semi-professionally, and with every fiber of my emotional being. It started when I was a young child and it will always be a part of me. It’s hard for me sometimes to work out the order of what I am and what I do: Mama, Photographer, Writer. No matter how you word it, those are the three most humbling and grounding elements of my life.
You can find me on my Facebook page. I follow back and connect with other bloggers/photographers/businesses. You just have to tell me how to find you on FB in a message or on a post from with your fan page name or with a link and I’ll find you!
