Where were we? Last time in Part 4, we ran around with glee at all the Star Wars Nerdery going on at Hollywood Studios. We were like two kids in a candy store! And oh yeah, we had our kids there too. Four kids in a candy store? Cassidy tried to kiss Jyn Erso and I tried to hug Kylo Ren. “You are part of the resistance.” “Yup.” “Unacceptable.” “But should we hug?” “No.”

One thing to remember, is that there were always three kinds of cameras to capture our moments. We had our phone cameras, I had my “real” camera, and the Disney Photographers had their “real” cameras. That doesn’t mean every moment was captured, though. Sometimes, often, you just have to experience it. That said, everything is mish-mashed in my head and in my photos, so I’m just going to tell the stories, and hopefully not be too out of order? We totally rocked Hollywood Studios.
We got pretty decent seats, although you sit on the floor, and I know I wasn’t the only parent grinning like such a dork at all the theme songs for the TV shows we have known for the last half dozen years or so. Also, sorry to the people after us who found crushed Rainbow Goldfish in their seats! Scarlet really liked the host of the show. He was rather inspiring for us.
There was a Doc McStuffins skit, a Mickey Mouse Clubhouse one, a Sofia the First one, and a Jake and the Neverland Pirates one, complete with gold doubloons coming from the ceiling! My kids thought they were REAL gold, but they were paper.
After that rousing show, we wandered around to get Scarlet an autograph book, check out Disney Junior souvenirs, and then we saw Sofia the First! She took a five minute break to “tend to Clover” but we were first in line after her break.

I think Sofia loved us, though. I think I whispered (creepily) in her ear that she has made our life ever since Scarlet was three. I really remember the exact day we discovered the show. Scarlet has never looked back since, and also loves Elena of Avalor.
We only split up once during the day because I wanted to go on The Great Movie Ride, while the rest did Star Tours. I thought Star Tours would be too much for Des and he should come with me, but luckily he chose wisely with Star Tours. My ride was 20 minutes long, had actors firing real-sounding gunshots, the alien from Alien coming through the ceiling, and the Wicked Witch of the West – as an actor and not animatronic – disappear in a cloud of green smoke. Des would not have liked that!
Another fun thing, that we had a FastPass for, is the FROZEN Sing-a-long. How to explain this one? Well, everyone files in for the immersive experience that includes stage acting, movie clips, singing, of course, and SNOW coming from the ceiling. Our actors were hilarious. I couldn’t find a video that had the exact ones, but if you want to see what it’s like, this video has it!
It’s super important to tell you that this was supposed to be a sing-a-long, but our audience just saw there! How boring! Cassidy sang along louder than anyone else on earth, and his rendition of “Love is an Open Door” should have been filmed. He was so loud that people would turn in their seats to look at us. We weren’t embarrassed, though. We were proud and amused.
After we filed out of there and had lunch, we were scheduled for Jedi Training, and the kids didn’t want to do it! So we headed to the Pixar part of the park for the Toy Story Mania ride, and managed to meet some pretty cool characters there!

The wait was about 20 minutes or so, but there are activities along the way. When it was our turn, Buzz wanted a hug, and also to tell me that Woody smelled bad. I wanted to hug Woody too. I bet they get a lot of hugs and kisses all day long.

After Toy Story Mania, which I didn’t do because I have trouble with either spinning or motion simulation, we decided to make our way out of the park. We wanted to decompress, maybe sit by the pool, grab a snack, and then come back for fireworks!

Then we went back to our hotel and got to fully see and enjoy our room! It had been an exhausting day but the next prize – Magic Kingdom – was going to start early the next day. We got dessert in our room and all promptly fell asleep.

The End, For Now.
Next up, MAGIC KINGDOM. And I assure you a lot of magic, and I suppose a lot of kingdom. We do it up RIGHT!
We’re seeing that fireworks show this time! We’re doing the Star Wars Dessert Party. I cannot wait!
It’s happening now!! I need to hear all about it! A dessert party?! Didn’t even know about that.
Omg, you know I just couldn’t love this yet again if I tried! Oh and Emma just loves Elena Avalor. So, are girls are once again twins. She is so exited to meet her finally this summer and is dressing up as her when we go back to get makeovers at the boutique in Magic Kingdom once again, too 🙂
Elena rocks! SO awesome to meet her!!!
Emma is going to have a BLAST!
“Should we hug?” That’s too cute. 🙂
Your pictures have me all excited, and I’m not even going to Disney anytime soon, but I know it’s going to happen again. I cannot wait. 🙂
I can’t believe he wasn’t embracing me!? I could tell he wanted to…
We LOVE Hollywood Studios. I’m actually just getting into it. When Madison was younger we would do Magic and Animal Kingdom, but she’s now old enough to truly enjoy Hollywood Studios. We did Disney Junior Live on Stage along with Beauty and the Beast and Frozen. She loved all the shows. She got her pics with Sofia and Doc but rejected Jake and was no fan of Star Wars. You guys had an amazing time. Is there a part 6?
We only did Animal Kingdom once but we have to go back because Scarlet wasn’t tall enough for Everest! I know she wants to go on that! (I don’t!)
There will be a part 6 for sure! And 7…
Who doesn’t sing at a sing-along? So would’ve been singing out loud. I am loving your photos as it looks like so much fun and boy you sure did a lot! Cant wait to see the next post!
I really have to write it! I think Friday will be the day!
We have got to go soon while Disney Junior is still a draw! Do you remember the Bear in the Big Blue House show? My oldest loved that one! Sophia… Des I’m right there with you!
I vaguely remember it!! We didn’t have Disney channel for so long, but I know I saw it somewhere.
The hotel room is so cute! I would have been singing along, full voice. Embarassing my children:)
Exactly!!! Ours are too young to be embarrassed apparently.. but boy.. I was still wondering if they would be!
So awesome! I love the pictures with Sofia, Des is so funny! We met her on our cruise and I really like her costume. That is so funny about Cassidy singing loudly at the sing along! Amazing fireworks pictures – I haven’t quite figured that out yet!
She was so awesome! I really almost believed it was really Sofia.. don’t tell anyone!!
I’ve never stayed to see the fireworks at Disney, but they look amazing! Also, your hotel room is so cute. I love a hotel with a theme 🙂
I never did until I had kids. Maybe once in my childhood, and it was memorable!! The hotel is so much fun! I miss it.
I love that you asked if you could hug Kylo, HAHAHAH! You are too stinkin’ cute. The fireworks look amazing! And that clip from the Frozen show looked really funny! My friend just returned and her daughter was terrified of the new Frozen ride–I think because of a dip? Aww, regardless… I’m so glad that you, Cassidy, and the kiddos had such an amazing vacation <3
XOXO
I just thought he needed a hug, ya know? He didn’t think so at all!!
I’m so with you because Janine told me that the Frozen ride has a backwards dip that might be scary for kids. But for me! It’s scary for me! I’m the only adult ON EARTH afraid of the small dip in the Pirates of the Caribbean!
It’s so lovely to read this! It’s one great adventure for sure. I love everything. I love the fireworks! And it’s so funny I remember this – I once posted about Disney Junior Meet & Greet on my blog and you commented that you wouldn’t know how Scarlet would react if she sees them. It just crossed my mind again now that you mentioned it here. And yes, OMG Sofia can close her eyes?! Haha, that cracked me up!
I remember that!!! That’s so funny that you do too! It really resonated with me.
See, now I’m sad that we missed both of those live shows. It is simply not possible to do it all at Disney, is it?
It’s just not! Unless you spend several days doing all the parks. It’s a lot!
I haven’t seen the star wars show yet! But I’ve got a special place in my heart for Sophia! The fireworks pics are out of this world!!
Thanks!! I had no idea what I was doing with them and then there was trying to watch AND take photos. SUCH fun!
That is such an awesome room – my boys would still love it! Hollywood Studios is such a favorite for me – The Great Movie Ride is so much fun. I could ride Tower of Terror all day.
I have never been on it! It scares me! I love that you’re brave enough to do it.
Hollywood Studios has changed a lot in five years. Man, I need to get the kids back there. Oh, and Donald was my mom’s favorite character, too!
Aw! Donald is the best! My kids love him best too.
That Cars themed room is really nice! My kids also loved the Disney Jr. Live show.
I miss those rooms! They were such fun.
Fantastic. I’m making a quick trip out there (sans kiddos) and will be making a stop at Universal…
