It’s no secret, my friends, that I’m from New Jersey. Born and raised for 27 years!

And by circumstance, I’ve always felt like a New Yorker – or at least like I have a kinship with them. After all, my mom is a true New Yorker. When I was growing up, New York was my city. And those were my bagels, my pizza, and my pickles. The same way other places have their gifts – like Jersey tomatoes and fresh citrus fruits in Florida and cheesesteak (or even cheesecake) in Philly. When it’s from there, it tastes like it’s from there – and like nothing else on earth. I seek that out.

It was only hard to leave the only home I ever knew, because of missing the people, and of being afraid to lose sight of all the things that made it so wonderful. Like the variety of people and cultures and foods and languages. For me when I was growing up, everything was about the bagels. My grandmother lived in Bergen County, NJ and would go into the city to get special bagels. She’d never come to our house empty-handed. Rather, she’d have a large brown paper bag full of the most delicious smelling delights EVER. It wasn’t until recently that I smelled that wonderful smell again – right on our doorstep!

When I found out about New Yorker Bagels, I’m not kidding when I say I could have cried. It’s the BEST way to have the bagels I’ve grown to love, but in my home in Massachusetts. And now I have the best holiday gift idea ever. Time to meet the world’s best bagels, my friends! New Yorker Bagels is the world’s largest fresh bagel bakery, and they bake more than HALF of all bagels enjoyed in New York City every day. They bake for leading brands, hotels, cafes and restaurants, and lucky people like us! They have for almost 40 years. Think about how you must have had them in your life!

And here is where it gets exciting. You can have them in so many fun ways!

They recently started offering their highest-quality, hand-rolled bagels online – so that all of us in the United States can sample and enjoy. I love that New Yorker Bagels is obsessed with quality so they ship all orders overnight at their own expense. Now that’s fresh! There are 22 bagel varieties currently available online. They have traditional favorites like Everything, Egg, Whole Wheat, etc. and also avant garde options like French Toast, Kalamata Olive, and Jalapeño Pepper. There are healthful options too, like Quinoa Multigrain (we have this!), Cranberry Energy, and four Whole Wheat options.

And all of their products are vegan and certified kosher.

Now let’s talk about the ways to use New York bagels in your life. There are many! For me, it’s throwing a New York City Bagel Party at home! First of all, it’s so easy to order the bagels, and I’m going to run that one down with you. Once you get your bagels, invite your bagel-loving friends over. Order or make a deli tray! Believe it or not, I make my own. I have my own ideas about what cheeses, meats and pickles should be there. And always make sure to put out forks, mayo and mustard, and always have butter & cream cheese for the bagel purists. Like Des! Toasted everything with butter is his jam.

Also, onions, capers, and lox if you really want to go New York City all the way!

Now we really need to talk all things bagel love. And I’m going to list it out for you spectacularly:
