Heart Shaped Cereal Cake Recipe
I mean, come on. It is SO cute. We used Corn Flakes, just so you know, because we’ve had an overflow of them from other baking, like making Corn Flakes and Marshmallows and Chocolate cookies (I think inspired by Milk Bar) and we also use them for homemade chicken nuggets or whatnot. That said, you can use any breakfast cereal you want, which I’ll put in the recipe. The point here is to make it HEART SHAPED, and that it will be oh so delicious. I promise you! Milk Bar won’t let you down, and the Bowman Home Bakery won’t let you down either. I personally find it so satisfying that with this recipe, you can really get hands on to shape your cake into a heart shape. I really don’t mind messy hands. Sometimes the payoff is worth it to see what kinds of wonderful things you can create with your family. Just check this out. It’s a must make/eat.
Heart Shaped Cereal Cake Recipe:
What You Need:
1 package (10 oz.) of marshmallows – we used Mini Marshmallows
4 cups of breakfast cereal of choice – we used Corn Flakes
1 stick butter
2 drops red food coloring, or as much as you need
Sprinkles
(yes, that’s really it!)
What You Do:
1 – Melt butter in a large pot over medium heat and stir in marshmallows and food coloring.
2 – Heat it for about 10 minutes until everything looks all melted and smooth.
3 – Then, fold in your cereal and stir until the flakes are evenly coated.
4 – Remove from heat and let it sit for 5-10 minutes.
5 – Wet your hands, and then form a heart. You may have enough “batter” to make more than one.
6 – Add your fun sprinkles and then store in the fridge for a few hours. Super fun!
