That’s ok, though. We really needed the rain. This is an old recipe from four years ago but it simply needs to be revived. Also, it looks legit delicious to me still. I mean, noodles, olives, fresh mozzarella, and sauce? I guess food coloring doesn’t look delicious, but for a nice Halloween meal, it’s simply perfect here. As a kid, my mom used to make “Halloweenies,” which were hot dogs stuffed with cheese. The only thing that made them Halloween-themed is that we ate them on Halloween. I mean, makes sense to me. We would also sometimes pre-game our candy consumption with frozen pizza. No matter what you do, when you have young kids, you’re often not home during those tender dinner hours. So make this a late lunch or dinner, and enjoy!
Halloween Food: Spaghetti & Eyeballs
What You Need:
1 Box Spaghetti
1 Can Black Jumbo Olives
Fresh Marinated Mozzarella (small rounds)
1 24oz Jar Spaghetti Sauce
Purple and Lime Green Food Coloring
What You Do:
1 – Cook spaghetti according to package directions and strain and separate into 2 bowls
2 – Add 20-25 drops of food coloring to each bowl of pasta and toss well (plastic gloves can be worn)
3 – After the coloring is mixed in, add some water (about ½ cup or so) and mix again, then drain – this will get off some of the food coloring that did not soak into the pasta
4 – Mix both pastas together and set aside
5 – Slice the olives in thirds or fourths depending how big your olive is – place one slice on a ball of mozzarella then add a dot of pasta sauce inside the olive
6 – Serve pasta on a plate, add spaghetti sauce and place the eyeballs all around
7 – Enjoy your spooky Halloween food!
