What was it last week? Pouring rain. A missed school bus. Oh yeah, and Athena needing emergency surgery to remove porcupine quills from her face! Then it was a smooth(er) week, followed by a super smooth weekend. Now we’re back to a Monday. I see you, last week, and I raise you another cloudy day, losing out on a contract I wanted but couldn’t do because of geography, and forgetting a spare camera battery at a job site. It was a bit like when I showed up to a house with my Domino’s light on my car, but forgot the pizza. Luckily, these people today weren’t hungry and didn’t seem angry at me.
Halloween Food: Spaghetti & Eyeballs
What You Need:
1 Box Spaghetti
1 Can Black Jumbo Olives
Fresh Marinated Mozzarella (small rounds)
1 24oz Jar Spaghetti Sauce
Purple and Lime Green Food Coloring
What You Do:
1 – Cook spaghetti according to package directions and strain and separate into 2 bowls
2 – Add 20-25 drops of food coloring to each bowl of pasta and toss well (plastic gloves can be worn)
3 – After the coloring is mixed in, add some water (about ½ cup or so) and mix again, then drain – this will get off some of the food coloring that did not soak into the pasta
4 – Mix both pastas together and set aside
5 – Slice the olives in thirds or fourths depending how big your olive is – place one slice on a ball of mozzarella then add a dot of pasta sauce inside the olive
6 – Serve pasta on a plate, add spaghetti sauce and place the eyeballs all around
7 – Enjoy your spooky Halloween food!
