I always joke with my kids that I can’t eat food that looks like it did when it was alive, but these Halloween Appetizers are a bit of a puzzle for me. Can I eat food that was never living, but bears an uncanny resemblance to something.. spooky/scary?

Yes. Yes, I can. I can’t eat lobster unless it’s lobster ravioli, but oh, how I can eat Spider Celery!

Don’t ask me about snakes, though. Anything but snakes! (name that reference) Honestly, these are adorable and easy – which is exactly what I’m working with. Stick with me and fasten your seatbelt, because I’ve set aside time later to make mummy or skeleton cheese snacks. Look for those in a post tomorrow! I still have to figure out all the mummification with olives and the like. I asked Cassidy to stay home from work and help me with my work, but he declined. Well, sheesh! I guess I’m on my own, with my two dogs, living a strange dream of occasionally getting paid for playing with my food!
