As you know, from blog posts I’ve written for over 12 years on this blog, and books that I’ve been published in (3 and counting), I write a lot about mental health and mental illness. My Experience with Unwinding Anxiety:

As a mama of four, and a double business owner, I definitely don’t take the time to work on myself that I did years ago. I think you gain confidence with parenting and business owning, and you also can backtrack and have low periods as well. It’s a strange mixed bag of two steps forward and one step back. I’m learning to be ok with this. Stress and anxiety have historically and profoundly affected my life and I know I have written about it regularly here, at least once a week, on my Friday posts. When you think about “unwinding”, you may think of it as slowing down, but in fact, unwinding is an ACTIVE way to work on your mental health. This is how I take the time to practice meditation, mindfulness, and checking in with myself, and also learning about my habits and preconceived thought patterns. It’s fascinating how the app helps me break cycles of worry.

And these are super stubborn and longwinded cycles too.
