I think it’s rather funny that this is a “thing” – guacamole in the shape of characters. It reminds me of when I made a vegetable platter based on one of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. I think I picked Michelangelo so I could use carrots for the “bandana” and it was either that or using red bell peppers for Raphael! Oh man, what would I have done for the blue or purple bandanas? Inquiring minds and all! Anyway, I digress. The point is, there is a lot of fun you can have with food. A lot of it is for the sweet tooth, but you can make plenty of fun Halloween foods that are savory, and even healthy, like this is. I’m pretty sure this one is a crowd pleaser, AND, is doctor approved. Avocado was Des’ first favorite food! Rider loved it too. We’ll be starting Sawyer on it soon enough as well. So if you’re ready for a fun recipe, here you go! I hope you love it too.
Frankenstein Monster Guacamole Platter:
What You Need:
Blue Tortilla Chips
2 toy eyeballs (Amazon or a dollar store?)
3 black olives
What You Do:
1 – Spread the guacamole onto a medium sized platter to create the monster’s head – we made ours sort of boxy-shaped.
2 – Then, place the two toy eyeballs onto the guacamole spread.
3 – Add a black olive for a nose, and add two more olives for ears.
4 – Then, using a potato peeler, shred the carrot to create a monster mouth – use the carrot peelings to create a bandage as well.
5 – Then, lay out the blue tortilla chips to create Frankenstein’s monster’s hair.
