The Masked Singer on FOX Craft and Recipe Activities:

Now, I have to mention that with each performance, the host, panelists, audience, viewers, and even the contestants are left guessing who is singing behind the mask. They range from Grammy Award winners to legendary athletes, and everything in between. The singers will attempt to throw the crowd off their identity, although keen observers might pick up on the tiny clues buried throughout the show. And of course, each week, one singer will be eliminated – revealing his or her true identity. This family friendly guessing game needs some celebrating, doesn’t it?

With more time at home than ever before, I’m always looking to find an activity the whole family can get involved in. So, in anticipation of this Wednesday’s premiere, we created two masks inspired by the season 4 characters. First, the Crocodile was designed using FOX’s own DIY craft video and modeled after the show’s actual Crocodile costume (sneak peek image below). Second, the Sun was created using our own silly creativity. Regardless of your preference, both were ridiculous fun! And, what’s a premiere party without treats?! See below for the edible microphone recipe I’ve been wanting an excuse to try!

3 – For the Crocodile hat, trace the cutout onto cardboard and then the pink glitter sheet.

4 – Cut out all the cardboard with a box cutter, and the cardstock and pink glitter sheet with scissors.

5 – Then, score the cardboard with a ruler along the dashed lines from the template, being careful not to cut through, and then fold to shape the mask.

6 – Using a hot glue gun (be careful!), connect the upper and lower jaws to the mask; then attach nose to upper jaw.

7 – Glue the pink glitter sheet hat cutout to the matching cardboard hat cutouts, and then attach both parts of the hat together.

8 – Then, poke a hole on each side of the mask.

9 – Tie the ribbon and adjust it so it fits around your head.

10 – Paint your mask with metallic pink for the body, and green for the eyes, and then let dry.

11 – Use your permanent marker for the scales!

12 – And when dry, attach hat to top of the mask with a hot glue gun, and attach cardstock to upper and lower jaws.

13 – Have FUN!

  2. Anneliese is addicted to this show. Until her favorite person gets bumped and then she is a grudge holder. I am going to make these masks with her. Exciting about the new season 🙂
