I can’t believe it’s fall now!
I’ve been waiting for this, after all of that heat and humidity, but I’m also a little nervous about entering the cold months. That means more indoors time and with four pets and three kids, including an almost toddler, it’s hard to keep on top of everything. Have no fear, though. We always manage! Sometimes it takes eight hands on deck (since Rider’s hands would equal ten but he’s not very helpful with housework) and cutting into our weekend time, but that’s ok. We always make plenty of time for fun as well. Having a clean household, with clean surfaces, clean laundry, and clean pets and humans is a big feat we’re good at. Even me! I’ve gotten much better over time and I’m proud now to organize cleaning days, and choose cleaning products.

Fall Cleaning: Cleaning a Kid and Pet Household:

Tip 1 – Neutralize odor on your hard and soft surfaces:

That’s where Kids ‘n’ Pets really comes in. When you have three kids, three dogs, and a cat, life is super messy. Dog, urine, food, dirt, sweat, and more stains and odors happy daily. And this awesome product helps you clean up the messiest messes and smelliest odors. You’re going to need it! How to use it? Use it on soft surfaces, like carpet, as well as hard surfaces, like tile. Other cleaning solutions can’t attack and digest odors the way products with enzymes can. You can also use it as a laundry additive, to remove household odors, like smoke and fish, to clean and deodorize litter boxes, and even to clean your car. You just shake that bottle well, do a colorfast test, and apply it, then dry it (allow to air dry).

Tip 2 – Clean your pet gear:

You can run pet dishes in the dishwasher or clean them with hot, soapy water. You clean their dishes the same way you do for human members of the family. Make sure your cat’s water bowl is always clean and filled with fresh drinking water. Wash your cat toys in the washing machine if possible, as well as bedding and pillows. Clean the furniture areas where the pets hang out regularly. We have our couches vacuumed weekly, and will wash kitten and dog blankets, beds, and toys periodically.

Tip 3 – Declutter, especially the clothing:

I’d even say this is a priority. Cassidy is better at getting rid of clutter than I am, but every now and then I make a huge dent. Like when I got rid of 95% of the baby clothes while he was sailing on the Amazon! True story. It’s so nice when it’s all fresh and clean, and WORN, and you can prioritize clean, stain-free clothing. We love Biz Liquid so much! This awesome product is available in two sizes and cleans up to 80% better than detergent alone. It has more stain fighters than other brands and fights tough stains better than leading brands, guaranteed. The unique blend of enzymes quickly dissolves stains and odors, and it’s made with biodegradable surfactants. With Biz, you can pre-treat stains directly by wetting the area with warm water and applying the product. You rub gently and then wait 5-10 minutes. Wash as usual. You can also use the liquid to boost the power of your detergent!

Then, there’s Biz Powder:

Biz Powder cleans up to 80% better than detergent alone as well, and contains more stain fighters than other brands. It’s the original form of Biz! You can add the powder to every load to boost the cleaning power of your detergent and eliminate tough stains. Or do a Pre-Soak: Dissolve 1/2 cup Biz in a gallon of warm water and soak garments 1-4 hours, or a Pre-Treat: Wet the stained area, make a paste with Biz Powder and warm water. Spread paste over the stain, let sit up to 30 minutes, then wash as usual.

Tip 4 – Clean your your pantry:

This is always important. First, we remove cans and boxes from the shelves, and do vacuuming. Then, we inspect every item and either keep it or toss it. Usually we think about if the organization system we current have going is working, or if we need to make it more intuitive. Like cereals on shelves kids can reach, etc. Sometimes you find perfectly good treasures:

Tip 5 – Flip your mattress:

I do this with all of the kids’ beds. We do this twice a year.

Why use products with enzymes?

It’s because enzymes are amazing tools of nature! Bacteria produces enzymes, and then enzymes work to break down waste particles into smaller pieces that bacteria can easily consume. Then these smaller pieces of organic waste, urine, grease, and stains become food for bacteria that is converted into carbon dioxide and water. Why use them in cleaning products? It’s because they get rid of the need to use harsh chemicals in your home. And that’s because enzymes are natural, non-toxic and safe for people, pets, and the planet. Additionally, ensuring a pest-free environment is crucial for maintaining the cleanliness and safety of your home. Consider professional pest control services provided by Nashville pest control by Waynes to effectively manage and prevent pest infestations. Their expertise in pest control can help safeguard your home against common pests such as ants, rodents, and termites, ensuring a comfortable and hygienic living space for you and your family.
