‘Tis the season to think about spring crafts and decorations, right? Right. Especially since it is particularly NOT spring-like outside today! My youngest is home with a fever, and my oldest has an early dismissal from school due to an impending snowstorm. On March 31st! It never gets dull, especially since my son and I spent our morning eating pancakes and planning out our favorite spring activities. It will come. Of course, it will come! And it will be as colorful and gorgeous as always.
We have a Dollar Tree store two towns – and one scenic mountain ride – away, but during these cold winter months, like today (technically SPRING!), it’s so amazing to buy in bulk on DollarTree.com for all things Easter! They have a HUGE selection of quality products and it’s an exciting mix too – floral supplies, decorations, party supplies, school and office supplies, arts and crafts, and personal items too. This is the perfect website to buy Easter decor and craft supplies in bulk!
What you need for this amazing craft is fun colored cups, chenille stems, Easter grass, candy and toys, a stuffie, and whatever is in your imagination. Dollar Tree is your PERFECT online destination for all things spring and Easter, or anything!
How to Make Easy Easter Basket Cups:
Blue plastic cups (16 oz)
Purple plastic cups (16 oz)
Pipe Cleaners/Chenille Stems
–you use 3 stems per basket/cup
Stuffed Easter Bunny
Shredded Paper Grass
–Easter candy bonbons
1 – Punch 2 holes in a plastic cup opposite of each other with the paper punch.
2 – Place 3 pipe cleaners together. Twist the ends as shown. Loosely braid the pipe cleaners to create a basket handle. Twist the ends together when finished. Slide the handle into the hole on the cup and bend it upward to secure.
3 – Decorate the front of the cup with stickers.
4 – Use about three pieces of raffia to gently wrap around the top of the cup and tie a bow. Double knot onto the cup before tying a boy and trimming the ends. Unhook the basket handle and slide the bow under the handle to keep it secure to the cup.
5 – Add paper grass to the cup. Add the stuffed bunny. Place 3 pencils into the cup behind the bunny. Add additional paper to keep the pencils separated. Add erasers in between each pencil. Tuck candy behind the pencils.
6 – On the front of the cup, tuck 3 sixlet candies next to the bunny and place a candy carrot in the bunny’s hand.
Please note: These baskets should not be held by their handles. Hang onto the cup at the bottom/base to transport or move. The handle is simply for decoration.
