Don’t you just love supporting your health in a new year?

I do! I even have a checklist going of all the ways I’m keeping up to date with my health and wellness. Dental care is a huge part of health! I go for my dental cleanings four times a year, and Cassidy and Scarlet have their cleanings/exams every six months in unison. Des is on his own schedule. Both kids get a cleaning and exam and then get to pick a prize from the treasure chest. Well I don’t get a prize from the treasure chest – although I suppose I could if I really wanted to – but I do get the prize of good dental health. And THAT’S a prize to take with you.

I’m excited to share the Chewsi app with you! One of the biggest parts of dental health, not only is starting your hygiene plan at home, but it’s about keeping those dental appointments. It should be an easy process to find and book dentist appointments, and I love using the app’s Doctor Locator. The app also helps me envision different types of dental services I plan to book through Chewsi. Some of them may be cosmetic, like teeth-whitening, but you can also plan your cleanings – whether you go twice a year, or more. This app is a big part of your planning.

Chewsi Dentists Near Me: 5 Dental Care Tips:

1 – Brush your WHOLE mouth.

This isn’t just for teeth. Brush your cheeks, tongue, and roof of your mouth as well as your teeth! I keep a tongue scraper at home to clean plaque and food particles off of my tongue every night. And I use a mouthwash to rinse away any plaque that can also collect on my cheeks and the roof of my mouth. And definitely don’t skip the floss! This helps get plaque that can get trapped between your teeth and gums. See? The WHOLE mouth! This is an important tip.

2 – Eat Crunchy Produce.

This is one of my favorite tips. I love to eat celery, carrots, greens, and apples. They help scrape plaque away from your teeth, and also require a lot of chewing. And that produces more saliva which helps rinse more bacteria from your mouth! Plus, these foods also help with hydration.

And never forget to drink your water!

3 – Avoid sugar, where possible.

This one can be pretty hard. I am lucky in that I have never liked soda, so there’s no trouble giving that up! And I don’t like sweet tea. I do like juice and lemonade, though! And sugar can coat your teeth and feed the bacteria in your mouth. Reach for water, whenever possible. I especially like to drink water during the week, and then treat myself on the weekend.

4 – Rinse your mouth throughout the day.

This is important because your teeth can lose important minerals during the day. So, that’s when it’s good to rinse with a fluoride mouthwash. This can improve your dental health and clean your mouth at a time you wouldn’t normally do so. This helps keep it fresh.

5 – Stay ahead of your dental care with the Chewsi app.

There are a lot of benefits to downloading the Chewsi app. For one, signing up only takes around 30 seconds, and you only have to do it once. What you do is enter your personal information and a method of payment, and then you’re all signed up! Chewsi has a Find-A-Dentist Tool, which is easily searchable, to have your pick of hundreds of local Chewsi dentists. And you can pay through the app! After your dental appointment, you can pay using your smartphone. There’s no paperwork/hassle, and you can see how much you saved on the spot!

Chewsi will help you save money, no matter what service you need or want, and whether or not you have insurance. If you do have insurance, you can use the Chewsi app to save on services that are not covered in your plan. Or when you’ve reached the limits of your plan. For example, my plan covers two cleanings, but not four. And then there’s cosmetic whitening which can be a service outside a plan. Chewsi has no monthly fees, no limitations, and no exclusions. And, Chewsi members pay no monthly fees. That way, the savings are always there for you when you need them, and you pay for the services you receive, when you receive them! Plus, Chewsi is free to download!

  1. This may sound crazy but I did not go to the dentist for a span of 7 years and when I finally went – he said my mouth was beautiful and my teeth were great. I truly believe it has something to do with my diet and the fact that I brush two minutes every morning and night! I am going on about 5 years of not seeing a dentist now, so I am due for a check up in 2 years LMFAO

    1. OMG, you’re lucky. I missed TWO years and got such a lecture from the dentist. And had to do a LOT of damage control. You must have good teeth genes! Cassidy does and I hope the kids got what he has and not mine.

  2. Heck yeah! We just signed up for a new dental plan, but I am all about saving money. Especially since braces are coming our way again this year…. Thanks for sharing this!
