Back to School Toolkit With Clorox®

As much as I love summer, and I LOVE summer, I always start to crave fall in August.

It’s apple crisp and pumpkin spice. It’s golden leaves and cool breezes. It’s jackets, backpacks, and the smell of new books. It’s fresh pencils, clean notebooks, and planning out calendars and lunch menus. It’s diving into a pile of freshly raked leaves!

As fast as new beginnings and clean slates, something else hits us not long after we head back to school, after MONTHS of nothing. You know what I’m talking about, right? Sniffles and colds. Viruses and stomach bugs. We were hit hard when Scarlet started kindergarten and Des started daycare. We got three stomach bugs in one winter! Then last year had the season of the everlasting colds. It was enough for me to be afraid of any large gathering of children – whether at school or at a party.

And I want to ultimately enjoy fall, and then winter. I don’t want to be afraid!

If we’re being honest, my biggest fear is the stomach virus. It’s so powerful and contagious, and while it’s hard to see even one of my family members get it, it’s even worse to imagine it spreading to all of us, or to other families. That is why I stock up in fall on Clorox® Disinfecting Wipes, Clorox® Bleach, Clorox® Toilet Bowl Cleaner, and Clorox® Clean Up Spray. Clorox® Disinfecting Wipes are important for the home and they’re on our classroom wish list.

I feel happy knowing we donate them to the school every year.

The thing is, all kids have two homerooms – their homeroom classroom – and also their home-room – which is where they do homework and learn at home. Kids succeed when they have everything they need in both homerooms. Homerooms are most successful when they are fully equipped, when there are involved teachers and parents, and when they are clean. Luckily for us, Clorox simplifies the homeroom equation. Clorox® Disinfecting Wipes simplify the homeroom equation, and make clean and healthy classrooms and homes the simplest equation you’ll solve this year. Ready for the first day of school frenzy?

I know I’m getting there!

When you make your back to school shopping list, consider what is most needed at home and in the school. Our teachers provide a specific wishlist and we take it home and buy extras of those supplies at Costco, Walmart, or Target. We have school supplies for home, and the school mainly supplies what our kids need at school, which is also based on donations from families. I take most seriously the school’s request for Clorox products, and for every one I buy for home, I buy one for the classroom. Then I focus on extra crayons, kid scissors, markers, tissues, water bottles, and snacks for kids who forget theirs. There are hundreds of ways you can help your child’s school, but the first way to help is often asking them what they most need! Then you can create a Teacher or Classroom Basket during the first month of school, based on their requests. Clorox® Disinfecting Wipes remove germs, bacteria, and countless other nasties you find lurking in your home and in your child’s school. They are multi-surface and multi-mess, all in one wipe. They kill cold and flu viruses! Boy, that gets me every time! Don’t forget to add them to your back to school supply list, along with school supplies and food/supplies for home. Buy any Clorox®, Glad® or Hidden Valley Ranch® product, snap a pic of your receipt, and upload your receipt to earn a donation or cash back! To learn more, visit Clorox For Schools HERE.
