We’re such a MARVEL family. I became a fan after marrying Cassidy when he showed me the Iron Man, Captain America, Thor and Iron Man movies in order – some in the theater! And of course, can anyone forget Cassidy’s Halloween costume of 2014?
If you can’t tell, that’s Groot from Guardian of the Galaxy. Soon after that movie’s release last summer and then Halloween, our children became big MARVEL fans. Des has incredible Captain America shoes, and a pretty great collection of T-shirts:
So of course when I was at Walmart with Des last week and saw MARVEL Chewy granola bars, I knew I had to buy them. When I was a child, granola bars were pretty much the king of after-school snack foods. Is anyone else with me on that?
What’s funny is that as you get older, your perspective shifts, and childhood things seem smaller. When I opened the box of granola bars at home, I was surprised. They’re still big! And there are eight in a box, which is a good amount for my family.
There are six different wrappers to find – Captain America, Hulk, Spider-Man, Iron Man, Black Widow and Thor. The packaging also includes four collector cards – Hulk, Iron Man, Hawk Eye and Spider-Man. Our children care about such things – wrappers and collector cards and t-shirts and toys, but you know what? So do we. Cassidy and I are children at heart and we still love toys and collector’s editions and we care about what goes on our t-shirts, what movies we see, and yes, what food we buy.
When they come home from school SO HUNGRY. When we go on road trips and we all get SO HUNGRY. When we got to the beach, the park, the library, the museum or anywhere else – we always pack snacks that will satisfy super hero appetites:
