It’s truly my favorite season and August doesn’t disappoint. Generally July is a mixed bag of birthday celebrations and full camp schedules, and all of that tapers off in August. This year, we got a puppy in late May, so our June and July have been pretty puppy-centric. We did pile the two dogs into the van for our annual trip to Cape Cod, and now we look to August for some excitement. August is your chance, people! This is your time to shine. This is your time to break out the last minute, late summer bucket list. Or it’s time to write one. And make sure, as always, that there are plenty of snacks along the way.

Our August Bucket List:
1 – DO something with all those berries we picked earlier this summer. I’m thinking galettes, pies, giving them away, canning, jamming, and my true favorite – putting fruit on a cracker with accompanying cheese, dip, peanut butter, etc.

2 – Go to a local amusement park. We have so many! Bonus points for an amusement park with a water park too. The road trip is part of the fun, so we’ll make sure to have plenty of snacks to share during the ride, and also while at the park.
3 – Go to the town or county fair. We have quite a few of them in August and they’re always a special occasion. School bus demo derby, ferris wheel, games and prizes. Plus, road trips and picnic opportunities to share snacks!
4 – Go to a children’s museum. There are really good ones in New England in Boston, Connecticut, and even in Vermont. We used to go to them as kids! I remember the long mountainous road trips, and the awesome snacks that my mom packed us.
5 – Go to a drive-in movie. There is one somewhat near here and one near our beach house. I’ve never been!
As you can see, snacks are pretty much what it’s all about. And we get incredible NABISCO snack options from Walmart. These snacks help us to make summertime memories with each other. You can’t forget yumminess for August nights.

What fun ideas, and the snacks are making me hungry 🙂
I always loved August when my kids were little, because I would realize all of the summer things we hadn’t done yet, and then my energy would kick in to do them! You shared such a good August bucket list.
