Well consider this a whole other year of telling you why! Let’s face it – people think about their health when it’s a new year. It’s a fresh, clean slate. Sure, we can think about it at any other points of the year, but there’s truly something about January that makes it a wonderful time to adopt healthier routines. I think this year needs it more than ever. On a global level, we are all thinking about our health right now, aren’t we? And on a personal level, I had a baby in late 2020 and want to be my best so I can keep up with him. This is the year he’ll be mobile and I can’t wait to even start going for walks with him, or bike rides, and more. So much more to do!
Adopting a Healthier Routine Using Noom:

They are helping people everywhere lead healthier lives through behavior change. At the core, Noom believes that adopting a healthier routine should be easy and enjoyable and achieving wellness goals shouldn’t be overly difficult. So they focus on habit change psychology and small goals to help Noom users lose weight for good. The program gives you access to healthy recipes, fitness tips and tricks, one-on-one coaching from goal specialists, and many more tools! I’m a HUGE fan.
Some of My Favorite Features:
- Noom has personalized accountability for health and wellness. For many people, like me, I really thrive on accountability and deadlines. I really make my best changes when I’m completely motivated.
Community is everything! I love that Noom offers group support – you’re matched with other Noomers who are at the same stages and making the same steps as you are in your journey.
Personal coaching! You will be in contact with a personal Coach when you join Noom. The Coach will help guide you to your health goals.
Fun techy stuff. This, I love. I have the Noom app, which means I can log exercises, my blood sugar, and my blood pressure. I have been following my blood sugar since pregnancy, so it’s awesome to have a way to continue to track it.
You can also track your food with a barcode scanner, which is super helpful!
Other Tips & Tricks for 2021:
Hydrate. This is one of the best things to do! In fact, this will help your body to function properly and you’ll feel more energized during the day. It can also help your skin glow!
Sweat It Out. Another great way to get rid of the toxins in your body is by getting your sweat on. You should be exercising regularly anyway as part of a healthy lifestyle, but perhaps over the holidays you have cut yourself some slack and got a bit lazy. That’s perfectly fine, but if you want to stay fit and healthy, you need to get back into a good workout routine. Keep your body strong with a combination of cardio and strength exercises to see the best results.
Eat fresh foods. Experiment with low carb recipes to counteract the cookies and drinks from Christmas break. I love finding healthy dishes to make at home.
Reduce alcohol and caffeine. I don’t really drink much of either, although I’m a bit backwards in that I started drinking a little bit of coffee while pregnant, which isn’t the best time. I can only handle about a half cup a day, and I don’t touch alcohol, so I’m in good shape here.
Use Supplements. It’s always best to get your vitamin and mineral hit from your meals, but occasionally you might need to lean on supplements to make sure you’re getting everything you need each day. Having some of these at home is a great way to aid your detox and give you that health kick you’re looking for if you’re in a rush.
Join Noom today and see all that they have to offer. And definitely keep in touch with me about how it’s going, and I’ll do the same. I’m really excited to start 2021 on such an awesome plan with brand new habits that have me motivatted. It’s a brand new day in a brand new year!
