Almost everyone has been to a corporate family fun day – but the big question is, can they remember anything about that day that made it extra special apart from the usual festivities? Yes, everyone can remember when they played a special scavenger hunt at last year’s corporate family day or perhaps have an idea of the food they had – wasn’t that a brilliant barbecue? But at the end of the day, you want your employees to have fun and remember it for the right reasons. If you’re being honest, you want your corporate family day to stand out. And there are many ways for the event to stand out, starting with some activities and ideas that will delight your attendees. So what are they, and how can you make it extra unique and memorable? Here’s a list of favorite ideas and activities to make your corporate family day a complete success.
1 – Family bingo
We’ve all heard of bingo, and you can include the game on your next corporate family day. The mechanics are simple: give each participant a board, and you can fill the board with such things as ‘talked about their pet’, ‘has the most kids’, ‘plays an instrument,’ ‘is the oldest employee’, and so on, and obviously, the first one to fill the board is the winner! Have the board printed out in advance and give them to all the participants or departments to see who gets the most answers.
2 – A bouncy house
Bouncy houses are all the rage; we have seen our share of them at virtually every children’s party we’ve been to! It’s an entertainment option that immediately makes an event more fun – just the sight of it from a distance will delight everyone’s kids, not to mention relieve the adults as they won’t have to take care of the kiddos (for an hour or two, at least).
One of the best things about bouncy houses (or inflatables, as they are also called) is that they’re relatively inexpensive, and you can easily rent them from fairground hire companies, which have other rides and attractions, besides. You can also choose from an array of styles and designs, from moonwalks to climbing walls and obstacle courses to slides, and you can even have a water attraction. Keep in mind that you should choose an inflatable based on the age of the children and the location of your corporate family day, and be sure that the site you choose has electrical access.
3 – The day isn’t complete without entertainers
Of course, what corporate family day is complete without entertainers? You have got to have them, and the trick is to know what to choose based on your audience’s age and interest. Magic will entertain kids and adults, and a magician can perform illusions and tricks for the better part of an hour. You can also hire face painters, an excellent choice for young children. Still, if you’d like something for the whole family to enjoy, there are now many caricaturists, painters, and other visual artists who can showcase their talents and leave everyone in awe.
Clowns are also a big hit, as are balloon artists – and don’t forget a DJ, who can make the day more exciting with music and be a master of ceremonies for the event at the same time.
