I have been making better product choices since my kids were born, and I first learned how important it is to monitor all the toxic chemicals that can come into our homes and comes in contact with our family. I wish I could say I had thought of it way before that, but I’m glad I think about it now. There are some incredible chemical-free products that we use in our home, and I can’t wait to share them with you! Change can be gradual, and that’s why this is a simple start to a more chemical-free home. When we are using products we feel great about and spending our downtime together, we are happier.
5 Ways to Rid Your Home of Toxic Chemicals:
1 – Ditch pesticides and focus on prevention. We live in the country and we’re no strangers to lawn pests and ants. We luckily don’t have problems with mice and roaches, but we take steps to prevent these pests, rather than expose our home to many pesticides. Wash your dishes carefully, and don’t leave food out. Keep food packages tightly closed, and seal any cracks that are points of entry into your home. Oh, and pull weeds instead of spraying for them. It’s good exercise!
2 – Wash your hands. Kids generally make a good practice of this through school and activities, but sometimes when cold and flu season ends, we tend to let it slide. There are still plenty of germs and chemicals on our hands.
3 – Eat organic whenever you can. This also helps to protect the environment. It can be tough to eat organic 100% of the time, so we’re realistic. It helps us to buy in-season produce, go to the local farmer’s markets, or join a CSA, or half-share. We also buy organic when it’s fruit that absorbs more pesticides, rather than fruits like bananas and oranges. And we try to do our own gardening, where possible.
4 – Keep germs out of the house! Take off your shoes before entering your house. Use a door mat to catch dirt at the door. Vacuum your house regularly (with a HEPA-filter if possible) at least twice a week.
5 – Invest in an awesome TubShroom. A TubShroom is a revolutionary drain protection device – simple as that! It eliminates the need for harmful chemicals to clean out your clogged tub drains. You can place it in any standard tub drain and it will work by collecting strands of hair that come its way. All the while, water continues to flow freely.
As you know, I have a lot of hair. And so do my family members! Now we can say goodbye to a clogged drain and hello to a clear drain! TubShroom will eliminate the chemicals and fishing hair out of the drain. Plus, pet hair too!
It has so many benefits. TubShroom keeps drains clear, cuts down on expensive plumber bills, and is an environmentally friendly way to eliminate clogs. Also, unlike regular plugs that go over the drain, it fits inside.
TubShroom fits inside the drain, unlike regular plugs that go over the drain. And it’s designed to effortlessly catch human and pet hair without disrupting your flow of water. We have a lot of human and pet hair – especially since we have a puppy who rolls around in dirt once a week and needs a bath! And of course, it’s the long-haired pet that does that! When it’s time to clean up? You can simply wipe TubShroom off and go! It’s so easy to maintain. Plus there’s a SinkShroom too!
What I love is that there are no more harsh chemicals needed to clean the drain in our two tubs and three sinks. And no more costly plumber bills too! I also love that TubShroom is environmentally friendly and family friendly too!
