She’s my WingWoman, Right Hand Man, Co-Pilot, Walking Partner, Best Bud, and all around Good Dog. We got her in Alabama over three years ago and we think she loves her exciting New England life in the woods! In fact, sometimes it’s a little TOO exciting. Snakes and snails, and skunks and fisher cats. Baby deer and mother bears. Altogether, I can’t imagine a better life for our dog. She gets plenty of outdoor play, sunshine, fresh air, and treats! She gets pets and scratches galore.
Nature’s Recipe has only been sold at pet specialty stores for the past 35 years, and now it’s available at Walmart! The thing is, up until recently, we used another specialty dog food brand from Walmart. We loved the convenience of getting our food there, but it wasn’t our number one choice. Nature’s Recipe is exactly what we’ve been looking for all this time. It’s a healthy, beneficial option for Athena and it’s now available at Walmart at a great price.
1 – It’s now conveniently available at Walmart for a low price. This is incredible news for people who already buy Nature’s Recipe, but now we don’t have to go too far, or spend too much to have it. It’s also incredible news for dog owners who haven’t yet experienced Nature’s Recipe! This will be a great switch for you. I’ll share my tips for switching below!
2 – Where to start? Nature’s Recipe is made with high quality protein, no corn, wheat, or soy. They’re also made with no artificial colors or preservatives, and no poultry by-product meal. Feed their life to the fullest, because your dog is your best friend and deserves food with quality ingredients!

3 – Nature’s Recipe makes purposeful recipes with ingredients from nature – designed to provide exactly what your dog needs to feel like his or her most vibrant self, each and every day.

4 – Nature’s Recipe offers a lot of “Grain-Free” options that not many other brands offer.

5 – The recipes are crafted to bring out the best in your dog. I firmly believe that Athena lives her life to the fullest every day. I am inspired by her and I hope to be like that. Dogs are meant to live these great big, vibrant lives, as it’s in their nature. Everything Athena does, she does with gusto. Whether that’s sleeping, playing, or eating, she’s all in!

She takes epic naps, chases squirrels and chipmunks up trees, rolls around in the mud, babysits our chickens, and nearly knocks Scarlet down after she comes home from a long school day. When Athena is happy, her entire body wiggles.

As a dog owner, I find it fulfilling to nurture this way of life. I love to help Athena to live her biggest, fullest life possible – each and every day. It starts with love, and continues with purposeful recipes with ingredients from nature.
To switch to Nature’s Recipe from another dog food, mix your dog’s current food with Nature’s Recipe gradually. Over seven days, decrease the amount of the current dog food, while increasing the amount of Nature’s Recipe. I started with 75% of the old food, and 25% of Nature’s Recipe. Then I transitioned to 50%/50%, then again to 25% old food, and 75% Nature’s Recipe, and eventually it became all Nature’s Recipe. I considered it a gentle and easy transition.
