Learn To Straighten A Crooked Photo

Learning to straighten a curved photo is easy. First, select the Measure Tool in your palette. If it is not in the palette, you will find it in the Eyedropper icon. Right-click on the Eyedropper icon, and you will see photo editing tools appear in a little Menu.

To do the straightening, find a line that was supposed to be straight. It can be anything such as the horizon, a piece of furniture, a wall. Now draw a new line on the top of the line that you think should be straight. For drawing the line, click on one edge of the line in the image and drag the mouse till you reach the other edge of the line. When you reach the edge of the line, click again.

You will notice the measure of the angle of this line in the Options Bar Menu. This indicates how crooked the image is.

Now select Image on the top of the toolbar. After selecting Image, go to Image Rotation and then select Arbitrary. The angle measurement is automatically filled by photoshop. Check if it is correct and then click OK.

Now you will get the image straight. However, you will notice some white canvas appears around the image. Click on the Crop Tool and click on either of the corners and drag it to the end of the white canvas. Hence, you will be able to remove the white canvas around the photo.

Color Adjustment

Color adjustment is the most interesting part of editing photos. Imagine, the color of your photo is a little pale. You can use Photoshop to bring back the original color. Color Balance is an easy-to-operate tool that can modify the color of the image. There is another tool called Selective Color which is used to select a particular color in the image and alter only that color. If there is any color in the image you do not like, you can use this tool to alter that color without affecting the rest of the colors in the image.

Use A Vignette

Step 1: Go to the Filter Menu. Now select Lens Correction. Open the photo in which you like to apply a vignette effect.

Apply Sharpness

Adding sharpness is an easy step and increases the quality of your image. You can use sharpening tools to clear up the images which are blurry or unclear. Your image will look edgy and more detailed after sharpening. 

Step 1: Click Filter (from the Menu Bar) ➤ Noise ➤ Reduce Noise.

Step 2: Now you can make a new layer of the image or can sharpen the particular area according to your preferences. To create a new layer click Select ( on the Menu Bar)  ➤ Duplicate Layer. If you want to make a selection then click Select ( on the Menu Bar) ➤ Edit ( in Quick Mask Mode) ➤ Brush Tool. Now paint over the area you want to sharpen.

Step 3: Filter ➤ Sharpen ➤ Sharpening tools

How To Use The Patch Tool

• Toolbox ➤ Spot Healing Brush Tool ➤ Patch Tool
• Taskbar ➤ Source.
• Drag the cursor over the spot and blemish and encircle it.
• Now click the circled area and drag it to a clean area.

How To Use The Clone Stamp

• Click the Clone Stamp icon from the Toolbox.
• Choose the brush size.
• Alt+ Click and select an area you want to use to vanish the blemish. 
• Now Click and drag the selected area over the spot.
