Our favorite Valentine Breakfast: Mini Chocolate Covered Strawberry Cream Cheese Danishes are delicious and perfect for your sweetheart or family breakfast!

I’ve told you a thousand times and I’ll tell you again – Valentine’s Day is one of my favorites.

I’m a sucker for it. My mom and I share a deep love for all holidays and while it’s hard to choose one favorite, we have a favorite aspect of each holiday. And no two are alike! And mind you – I’m talking about the secular aspect of things. I’m all about the meanings behind the holidays but this is more about the surface and retail things. Like Halloween has the best atmosphere, and Christmas has the best spirit. Easter has the best candy, by far, and Valentine’s Day is the prettiest. I love red, pink and white and I love eating heart-shaped foods. Somehow things always taste better when they’re heart-shaped.

17.3 ounce package puff pastry, thawed
½ cup chocolate chips
1 egg
1 tablespoon water

What You Do:

1 – First, prepare baking sheet with parchment paper, and preheat oven to 375 degrees F

2 – In a mixing bowl, beat the cream cheese, vanilla, sugar, and cocoa until light and fluffy

3 – Next, flour work surface and unfold the puff pastry

8 – Using a sharp knife, gently score a heart shape about ¼ inch inside each puff pastry heart

9 – Using a fork, poke inside each each of the hearts twice

10 – Then, in a small bowl, mix together egg and water until combined

11 – Brush the border of each heart with egg mixture

12 – Bake for 10 minutes and remove from the oven

13 – Next, using a fork, poke the inside heart around the border

14 – Spread cream cheese mixture into each heart, keeping inside the border (Use a piping bag for less mess)

15 – Then, place some diced strawberries onto each pastry

16 – Next, bake for 4 minutes or until golden brown and allow to cool on pan for 5 minutes

17 – Lastly, melt chocolate chips and drizzle over danishes

Born To Be Wild: Treating Your Dog Like The Animal They Are

For real, though – this was the dog I had in my childhood:

Dogs were one of the very earliest animals which humans domesticated. Descending from wolves, these creatures have a strong pack mentality, and this makes it very easy to live with them when you know how to make yourself into the alpha. Of course, though, while your pooch might seem at home wrapped up in a blanket, most of these beasts are wild at heart. To give you some ideas when it comes to letting your dog enjoy this side of their life a bit more, this post will be exploring some of the best ways to achieve this goal.

Walk Times

When you take your dog on a walk, they aren’t thinking about getting exercise or having the chance to go to the toilet. Instead, they want to go hunting, enabling them to show off some of their skills to their human packmates. Going to the same places all the time will slowly erode the enjoyment your dog gets out of this. When you go somewhere new, there will be a renewed possibility of successfully hunting something, and this will make the whole event a lot more exciting. Of course, it’s always worth making sure that the walk areas you choose are nice and safe.

Along with taking them to new places, it could also be worth thinking about the toys you take with you. A lot of dogs like to play with sticks when they go outside. This can be dangerous, though, with these objects often having sharp points, and dogs not being very good at handling things with care. To overcome this, investing in a ball launcher can give your dog a great exercise, without putting them at risk of hurting themselves. Of course, you have to be outside to give them the chance to run properly.

Outside At Home

Along with having the chance to enjoy the outside while walking, your dog should also have the chance to go outside while they are at home. Loads of properties have gardens, giving you access to a great space to keep your dog safe without having to keep watch over them. To make this space as good as possible for them, it could be worth investing in handful of different toys. There are loads of options on the market which are designed to offer a more natural way to play, often inspiring the primal side of your pooch to come out.

When you’re letting your dog into the garden, you will have to accept that the place isn’t going to stay pristine. It’s far better for the dog to use this space as their toilet over doing it on the rug, but the space will quickly fill if you don’t do enough to keep on top of it. Along with this, dogs will often like to dig, too. While this will make a mess, it will burn loads of energy, and this is a great way to keep your animal fit. Of course, though, you’ll have to make sure that they can’t get under any fences when they do this.

Social Times

Being pack animals, dogs aren’t used to spending loads of time by themselves. When these animals get the chance to spend time together, you will see them having a true chance to play and be themselves. Even if you don’t have another dog to keep them company, you will probably know someone else with an animal like this who will be able to meet up from time to time. By using people like this, you can build a network of friends for your pet, giving them the chance to have proper fun when they spend time out and about.

Along with spending time with other dogs, it’s also good for your pet to have the chance to spend time with you. They will see you as the head of the pack, and won’t often get the chance to socialise. A lot of owners don’t give their dogs enough time. In most cases, this will result in a sad dog, as these creatures need to spend time around other animals. This makes it worth thinking very seriously about another pet if you’re worried that you won’t be able to provide everything which you dog needs.

Food & Drink

Finally, it’s time to think about one of the most important aspects of your dog’s lifestyle; their food. All animals need to eat, and large dogs will need a lot to keep themselves going, giving you a great chance to improve their wild side. There are loads of companies out there which offer non-processed dog foods. While normal brands may be just fine, there will be few things healthier than having proper meat, and this is something which a lot of dog owners wish they had done from the start with their pets.

The food they eat all the time is important, but your dog will probably care more about the treats which you give them when they’ve been good. Bones have long been the number one natural dog treat. These products can be a little dangerous, though, especially when it comes to puppies, and it can be worth looking for something a little softer for them. Companies like Ace Antlers have a wide range of products which can help you with this. Of course, though, you may have a to try a couple of options until you find one which your dog likes.

With all of this in mind, you should be feeling ready to get started on the time you put into making your dog’s life a little more wild. Not a lot of people put effort into areas like this, simply letting their dog drift through life, rarely experiencing anything truly exciting. Of course, though, it doesn’t really take much to improve an animal’s life. While dogs are complex, they can often be easy to please, especially when they have the chance to spend time with you. They may not realise it, but you are the single biggest thing in their life.
