Every Picture Tells a Story

For your viewing pleasure.

Sadly, I’m not listening to this one right now. For one, everyone in my house goes to bed 17 years earlier than I do. For another, it’s one of those songs that makes all the hairs on the back of my neck stand up. And since my hair is growing down to my stomach, slowly and surely, you can imagine how that feels when it’s standing up on the back of my neck. Chills.

There’s not a really great story behind that unicorn costume and candle holder, other than that it’s a work thing, but I had to throw that one in. I’m never any good at limiting things to one or 10 or 100 photos. So finally this week, there’s a Finish the Sentence Friday prompt I can really work with – 10 phone photos. Whee! And by that way, that was a joke. I can work with ALL Finish the Sentence Friday prompts. They’re all so much in my wheelhouse that it’s almost disgusting, and then they’re almost no longer in my wheelhouse, because I obsess. This one, though. I just have to do it now. Tomorrow starts my fall foliage family photo shoot season. Say that 10 times fast. I’m “only” doing 3 this weekend. In one weekend, that’s a lot.

That’s because I put my energy into each one. The nerves. The obsessing over lack of nerves. The energy expended by pacing and fidgeting. The constant inadvertent squats and lunges and stretches. The being in the zone. Ah, I can’t wait. All of these next 10 phone photos were taken in the last couple of weeks, and all have small or large stories behind them.

Every picture tells a story, don’t it?

1 – We started decorating for Halloween, and this is my bird’s eye view, or rather desk’s eye view of the commotion. By the way, the dogs HATE that ghost. Astro gave it the middle finger, Athena ran away, and the cat just ignored it.

2 – We went to the kids’ first Bar Mitzvah and they were both mystified by the yarmulkes. I pinned this into Des’ hair and made him pose for a photo. He looks like such a good little Jewish boy! You’d never know it was his first time.

3 (and bonus) – Speaking of which, they also had their first time in a church that wasn’t being used for a piano recital. This one was warm and welcoming and the kids gave powerful “sermons” that I’d like to believe weren’t about the gas we pass.

4 – What can I say? Scarlet is truly a girl on the run. She loves getting fancy but can’t resist running.

5 – If I want to, as you know, I can create stunning and compelling phone photos. None of these really fit that mold. For one, I’m just having fun. For another, the sun hasn’t really come out in 8 weeks anyway, so it’s Astro in low light.

6 – Des eats doughnuts with true passion.

7 – This land is their land, kinda. It’s their grandparents’ land!

8 – Name that castle! I’m looking at you, Jen.

9 (and bonus) – Scarlet took a selfie (us-ie) and that made everyone in the vicinity go, “Awwwww.”

10 – We somehow found a New England themed restaurant in Silver Springs, Maryland called “All Set.” The bathroom had a random wall of toilet paper! And the server told me that no one ever uses it for anything other than decoration!

This is me linking up, as one of my favorite things to do, with Finish The Sentence Friday. This week’s topic is “Share 10 Photos From Your Phone.” And there’s still time to write yours. Come link up with your spin: HERE.

Which one is your favorite?
