Looking for the perfect, refreshing, anytime-of-year party drink? This recipe calls for refreshing mint, sweet strawberries, tart lime, and 7UP. #7Waysto7UP

As far as parties go around here, I think we’re pretty top-notch! No party here is complete without party snacks, party laser lights, and party drinks. My husband makes top-notch drinks – with alcohol or without – and will wrap anything in bacon!

Let’s talk about drinks, though. We are mojito people around here. Cassidy likes mojitos with rum, and I don’t, but somehow we have a recipe that is so versatile that it can be enjoyed by everyone – regardless of having rum or not. One of the key ingredients is 7UP – and it’s the perfect way to share good times at parties, celebrations, events, or even just a night-in by mixing up our normal routine. Our frozen slushie drink can be enjoyed during the warm months that I love so much:

And during the cold winter months, when you need a drink that is both soothing and energizing all at once!

Snow day drink! What I love is that the mint is refreshing, the strawberries are sweet, the lime is tart, and the 7UP is the perfect, versatile complement to our mixed drinks. It provides more flavor and tastes sensational which makes this a wonderful anytime drink. Whether you use 7UP in a fun cocktail or mocktail, a fruity or citrus punch, or even in baking or marinade food recipes, I’ve found incredible uses for it in every form. What I LOVE is my creative mixed drink – Strawberry Mojito Slushies.

Recipe Time:

Frozen Strawberry Lime Mojito Slushies

Prep Time: 10 minutes

Total Time: 10 minutes

Yield: 3 servings

Serving Size: 1 mojito glass

Frozen Strawberry Lime Mojito Slushies

  1. 1 cup 7UP 2L
  2. 6-12 mint leaves
  3. 2 Tbsp sugar
  4. 1 lime juiced
  5. Lime wedges for garnish
  6. 4 cups ice
  7. 1 cup fresh strawberries
  8. 4 ounces rum of choice (1/2 cup) *Optional

  • 1. Muddle the mint leaves, sugar, and juiced lime with a handful of ice
  • 2. Add this mixture with the 7UP, (optional) rum, strawberries, and the rest of the ice to blender
  • 3. Blend until smooth

This perfect, refreshing mojito can be made as a mocktail or with rum - and is equally good each way. The fresh mint, sweet strawberries, and tart lime are soothing, while the 7UP provides a perfect lemon/lime twist.

Easy, right? I don’t know what it is about the drink, but the color, taste, and texture make me happy. I’m proud to serve this drink at any party or social gathering at my house, and also happy to bring the ingredients to a party elsewhere.

I first introduced this drink at a party over the holidays.

It was the first time in EIGHT years that we had made it to one of their “famous” parties. Maybe I should say infamous, because they generally end with my dad blasting AC/DC as loud as it can possibly get – until it doesn’t sound like music anymore – and then the generation above me (and below) rocks themselves to sleep. It rocks, so to speak, and I’m happy to say that after all this time, my parents still party like the best of them! After the party we went to a friend’s wedding in PA.

holiday party

Back to the party, though! It was our first holiday party of quite a few this December and I was in charge of beverages. I LOVE being in charge of beverages. Then I can go and charm my parents and their friends with these beauties:

LOOK: a real snowflake landed on one!

I don’t know what it is about spring, but it doesn’t even take until the actual warmth of New England (in May or June) for me to want everything in a glass with ice. Maybe it’s the extra sunlight, which brings a little extra warmth. Maybe it’s the longer light and the promise of so many days stretched out under the sun. It’s everything we wish for, here in the Northeast, and it’s never any less sweet when it finally comes. You just start wanting to drink it up, even sooner than it actually happens.

My coffeeshop order changes, pretty much the day the light changes. Daylight Savings. I go from steamy latte, to iced latte. Spring weekends are the stuff of dreams, when even the cleaning feels good – out with the old, in with the new. We build blueprints – virtual and real – and we plan treehouse dreams. We sip cold drinks and talk about gazebos, hot tubs, and new constructions. These are some of my favorite times, and now that it’s warmer out, we take our conversations outside with cold and delicious drinks. Ever since I discovered the NEW Dasani Sparkling cans at Target, I’ve been making mocktails.

I love a good sparkling drink. In the winter, I was tempted to crash in the afternoon with a hot coffee or a hot cocoa, so lighter options are best paired with my more active lifestyle lately. Dasani Sparkling makes a healthier and flavorful option.

They are pretty, right? You can really make any moment sparkle with NEW Dasani Sparkling and while I love to drink it straight from the can for a refreshing drink, I created a mocktail recipe that uses two flavors of Dasani Sparkling, and it is SO GOOD. It makes my day to have a nice cold drink at the end of the day. The best part is that you can make it too!

What You Need:

1/2 cup Dasani Sparkling Tropical Pineapple

1/2 cup Dasani Sparkling Lime

1 cup Freshly-squeezed pineapple juice

Pineapple chunks for garnish

Lime wedges for garnish

fresh mint for garnish

1 teaspoon of honey

What You Do:

1. Use a juicer or other such device to get about a cup’s worth of freshly-squeezed pineapple juice.

2. Add both Dasani Sparkling flavors to the juice.

3. Add a teaspoon of honey.

4. Add desired amount of ice.

5. Mix together and then add pineapple chunks, lime wedges, and fresh mint as a garnish. Enjoy!

You could easily experiment with the amounts of ingredients, and with using other Dasani Sparkling flavors. All in all, the result will be refreshing and delicious. So perfect to make your day sparkle, anytime you want a cold drink.
