Blogger Bash Sweet Suite Unboxing (1 Year Later)

Thinking about heading to Blogger Bash NYC? We had so much fun at the #SweetSuite in 2016 and here's what we got in our swag box #unboxing #BBNYC #BBNYC2016

Ok, so I’ve been meaning to write this post for nearly a year now!

Big apologies for that one, but if you’re on the fence about the upcoming Blogger Bash NYC conference, maybe this will help. I attended last year as an ambassador for Acorn Influence. I can’t go this year because July is SO TOUGH with Scarlet’s birthday, my birthday, summer camp, Cape Cod, seeing Aunt Deborah for one time a year, etc. Basically the fact that it worked out last year is a magical unicorn. I had an amazing time, of course, meeting blogger friends and catching up with some of my oldest and dearest friends over breakfast. Then there was staying in a NYC hotel ALONE. The shower was so magical. I was staying near my mother-in-law who happened to also be solo in a NYC hotel. The hits kept coming.

It was magic, as I’ve said three times!

About a week (month? two months?) after Blogger Bash, we received a GIANT box in the mail filled with.. toys. Yup. This was if we attended the Sweet Suite Expo, which of course I DID! Basically instead of getting your swag there, and having to potentially drag tons of toys onto planes, trains, and automobiles, the brands send you the swag instead. I didn’t have the foresight to make an unboxing video, but I did take pictures. I think that’s almost as good? Is it as good? No one told me to write this post, by the way. I have always wanted to do it, and needed to publish it before it was too late. You may be going to Blogger Bash or thinking about it. The time is getting closer. I got ya, here. These brands took great care to send us toys.

And I have wanted to thank them for a long time now.

So.. drumroll. I will say that I should have saved things up for birthdays/holidays/special occasions, but I didn’t. My kids were practical, though. They knew how to divide up toys based on their interests and also to donate toys to our cousins or to the survival center, if we had any doubles or whatnot. I’ll give them credit for that. They were super excited to open a giant box of toys (as was I) but they were thinking ahead too. Nearly a year later, they still love and collect many of these toys.

And I was excited because they thought I was pretty cool (they still do). And some of the things I do for work rate as VERY interesting on my kids’ meter. Stick around this week. There’s sure to be some pretty intriguing things on Facebook, and maybe here too. That said, thank you to Blogger Bash 2016. I’m thanking you from 2017. I have wanted to thank you for a long time. All of these brands were awesome to meet face-to-face, and I loved their products to surprise my kids with.

Would one would be your kid’s favorite? Or YOUR favorite

5 Ways We Plan to Get Messy This Summer: Offer & Giveaway

This is a sponsored conversation written by me on behalf of P&G. all thoughts and opinions are 100% mine.

Looking for fun summer plans? If you buy $20 worth of any participating P&G products at BigY, you'll get two free movie tickets by mail! #ad #pgsummermovies

Looking for fun summer plans? How about movies and messes?

I don’t know about you, but summer makes me sing – in all its entirety. I love it all, and I even embrace the messes. They’re part of the territory! Think ice cream stains on your t-shirts, grass stains on your knees, and the endless remnants of sunscreen, bug spray, and anti-itch spray. There’s dirt, sand, corn on the cob, and cotton candy dripping down your chin.

Take a deep breath, because Big Y and P&G have you covered.

This summer, you’ll get rewarded for purchases you’re already making – and probably need to make! Big Y has partnered with Procter & Gamble for a great offer! Not only that, stay tuned to the end of this post where there’s a giveaway for a P&G Products Prize Pack. From 6/15 – 6/21, if you buy $20 worth of any participating Procter & Gamble products in one transaction, you’ll receive two Fandango movie tickets by mail! That’s pretty much awesome. We could ALL use movie tickets this summer – especially for those inevitable rainy days, or downtime days, or date nights or kid birthdays.

It’s pretty much my favorite thing. You can upload your receipts to!

Here are 5 ways we plan on getting messy this summer, and then the P&G products we’ll need after:

1 – Beach house, baby!

Beaches are always worth the extra trouble it takes to get there. Think sunscreen, sand, beachside picnics, ice cream trucks, and all kinds of fun! Plan to have at least one family beach day (pool, lake, ocean, river), or at least once a week!

2 – Hang out with animals!

Whether it’s the petting zoo or larger zoo, or local farm, or friend’s house – go where the animals are. In our family, we don’t have to go too far. We have 11 chickens here, and my mom’s farm has a dog, a cat, a mule and a friendly, cute pony!

3 – Nature walks.

Whether you’re looking for bugs or plants, berries or birds, or in our case – MOOSE – make sure you pack binoculars, a camera, a notebook, and a field guide or trail map. You never know what you’ll find, except you know you’ll find dirt!

4- ULTIMATE road trips.

And I mean ultimate. You may be thinking – how can we get so messy on a road trip? How, indeed. It happens, though! It’s eating in the car. It’s sea and sand and dirt. It’s taking home a suitcase full of dirty clothes. It’s salt water taffy on the boardwalk, or mud cakes from the mountains. Whatever it is – my kids will find the mess! Somehow, I will too.

5 – Being homebodies.

Of course, this may be the messiest way to summer of them all. Think bubbles and chalk. Squirt gun painting, and runs through the sprinkler with muddy grass all up and down our legs. Think shaving cream car wash, arts and crafts, ant farms, juicy strawberry picking, and time in the sandbox. Whatever we do at home, no doubt I’ll need to go to Big Y to get my P&G products immediately! They have a wide variety of the P&G products you already know and love.

We feel lucky because we live in between two Big Y locations – one in Northampton, and one in Southampton. There’s also a Hadley one that is super close to Cinemark – where you can use the Fandango movie tickets you’ll get after buying the products! Look for participating products – and chances are – you already use many of them. I know I do!

I went to Big Y last night to stock up for some upcoming special occasions, in which I’ll surely need these products. We have Des’ birthday party on Saturday, and his preschool graduation next week. We’ll be having house guests for two nights, and one is a baby! I can’t wait to see my nephew and celebrate summer and see some awesome movies with my tickets.

Here’s some of what I got in preparation:

How will you use your movie tickets? Cassidy is the ultimate king of summer blockbusters so I plan to use movie tickets for a date night/Father’s day gift. There are so many movies we want to see, and there will surely be chances to use tickets.

Don’t forget – you can submit your receipts at!!
