As far as parties go around here, I think we’re pretty top-notch! No party here is complete without party snacks, party laser lights, and party drinks. My husband makes top-notch drinks – with alcohol or without – and will wrap anything in bacon!

Let’s talk about drinks, though. We are mojito people around here. Cassidy likes mojitos with rum, and I don’t, but somehow we have a recipe that is so versatile that it can be enjoyed by everyone – regardless of having rum or not. One of the key ingredients is 7UP – and it’s the perfect way to share good times at parties, celebrations, events, or even just a night-in by mixing up our normal routine. Our frozen slushie drink can be enjoyed during the warm months that I love so much:

Snow day drink! What I love is that the mint is refreshing, the strawberries are sweet, the lime is tart, and the 7UP is the perfect, versatile complement to our mixed drinks. It provides more flavor and tastes sensational which makes this a wonderful anytime drink. Serving Size: 1 mojito glass

Frozen Strawberry Lime Mojito Slushies


  1. 1 cup 7UP 2L
  2. 6-12 mint leaves
  3. 2 Tbsp sugar
  4. 1 lime juiced
  5. Lime wedges for garnish
  6. 4 cups ice
  7. 1 cup fresh strawberries
  8. 4 ounces rum of choice (1/2 cup) *Optional


  • 1. Muddle the mint leaves, sugar, and juiced lime with a handful of ice
  • 2. Add this mixture with the 7UP, (optional) rum, strawberries, and the rest of the ice to blender
  • 3. Blend until smooth


This perfect, refreshing mojito can be made as a mocktail or with rum - and is equally good each way. The fresh mint, sweet strawberries, and tart lime are soothing, while the 7UP provides a perfect lemon/lime twist.

Easy, right? I don’t know what it is about the drink, but the color, taste, and texture make me happy. I’m proud to serve this drink at any party or social gathering at my house, and also happy to bring the ingredients to a party elsewhere.

I first introduced this drink at a party over the holidays.

It was the first time in EIGHT years that we had made it to one of their “famous” parties. Maybe I should say infamous, because they generally end with my dad blasting AC/DC as loud as it can possibly get – until it doesn’t sound like music anymore – and then the generation above me (and below) rocks themselves to sleep. It rocks, so to speak, and I’m happy to say that after all this time, my parents still party like the best of them! After the party we went to a friend’s wedding in PA.

Back to the party, though! It was our first holiday party of quite a few this December and I was in charge of beverages. I LOVE being in charge of beverages. Then I can go and charm my parents and their friends with these beauties:

GoAvo For Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner!

As you can tell by my almost-title, GoAvo is a product I can spend an entire day with. An entire week! What is it? It’s a new and delicious avocado-based condiment made from all-natural ingredients for a fresh and tangy flavor. Each bottle of GoAvo contains over 90% of tasty avocado. Combined with grapeseed oil, white wine vinegar, & lemon juice, GoAvo has a creamy texture & a delicious flavor. I’m a fan of condiments in general, but I’m not a fan of traditional mayonnaise. I prefer GoAvo as my condiment of choice. I know what’s in it, and I love the elevated flavors it adds to my meals. I also use it as more than a condiment – I use it as an ingredient. A filling and nourising one. I have found a way to enjoy it with every meal, and for snacks and parties too.

What would you do with GoAvo spreads?

For starters, BREAKFAST! I had to put it in all caps, but I promise I’m not yelling at you. I’m just the sort of person who dreams about breakfast the night before. It doesn’t matter if it’s Rice Krispies with a little cream in the milk, or if it’s a full plate of all of my favorites. I have a fierce hunger in the morning. GoAvo pairs wonderfully with most breakfast items – eggs, cheese, toast, etc. I made bacon in the oven, breakfast potatoes in a skillet, and two sunny-side up eggs for my breakfast. Instead of putting GoAvo right on the eggs or toast, I decided to use it as a dipping sauce for the whole breakfast.

It was so good. As someone accustomed to a little avocado with breakfast, I admired the versatility and flavor of using GoAvo instead. I know I’ll do that one again! A few hours later, I used it as a sandwich condiment for my turkey and cheese.

I mixed mine with a dijon mustard, but the GoAvo could certainly stand alone if you’re into just the mayo or avocado thing. I used the Basil flavor for my sandwich. I also heated up my a spinach tortellini soup, since I’m a soup and sandwich lover.

Later on for a snack, and because my in-laws were coming over for a belated Easter dinner, it was time to make deviled eggs. I’m in love with egg salad and deviled eggs. Cassidy doesn’t like regular mayo at all, and I can also live without it, so I made deviled eggs with GoAvo instead. You can use any recipe you want, but I used my standard favorite, which is always good:

What You Need:

6-7 eggs

1/3 cup GoAvo®

2 teaspoons (or more) of yellow mustard




What You Do:

1. Hard boil the eggs. I do them in the oven at 350 for 30 minutes, but there are lots of ways.

2. Remove eggs and cool them in the fridge.

3. Then remove shells from eggs and slice them in half lengthwise. Separate egg yolks and put the whites aside.

4. Mix the egg yolks with GoAvo, mustard, salt and pepper, to taste, and mash together until creamy and smooth.

5. Using a large star tip and plastic bag, pipe the mixture onto each egg white, filling the holes completely.

6. Sprinkle with paprika for a finish and serve!

Last, we have dinner. Cassidy makes his favorite taco recipe, using mostly fat-free ground turkey, taco spices from the co-op, grated pepper jack or colby cheese, beans, lettuce, tomatoes, and sour cream. Then GoAvo as a taco topping!
