I don’t know about you but I’m ready to put this week to bed. When it came time to write my Thursday night, to-be-posted-Friday-morning post, I knew it wouldn’t be a heavy hitter. For one, there’s no Finish the Sentence Friday this week! Apparently we’re all supposed to be summering, or something similar. For another, I already wrote two fairly in-depth personal posts this week, and I’m not sure I can do it again right now. For example, I’m reclining in my desk chair as I write.
I’ve been having a lot of fun in general – enjoying all of the newly crowned eight-ness of Scarlet, and enjoying Des’ funny five-ness just as much. I was going to put him in camp this week but I got cold feet and he’s been hanging with me all day long, all week long. At first I figured I had to schedule everything, until I realized how nice the rapport has been. If he gets bored, he un-bores himself. Character building, I say! We “work” side by side, me meeting deadlines, editing photos, and talking to people on video chat in meetings, while he silently plays in the trampoline behind me – only his feet visible on the other side of the chat. Sometimes, through the chat camera, you can even see the cat go over and tickle his little feet.
Other than working side by side, gallivanting to Connecticut and back, and seeing a movie, we’re ready to have Scarlet home next week for a few more adventures. We still have a lot of her birthday Fruit Loops around, so this is the super awesome milkshake you make for your kids ONLY on a Friday, of course. (just kidding – have them whenever you want) I like that you can take a spoon and treat it like a fancy bowl of cereal, or leave the cereal out of the top and purely drink it.
4 large scoops of party cake ice cream
1 cup of crushed Froot Loops cereal
Raspberry or Strawberry Sauce
1 ½ cups of milk
Directions: Add all ingredients to a blender, blend until smooth. Top with Froot Loops (optional). Serve.
