My Winter Blizzard Cookies are gorgeous cookies to add to your holiday platter! Made with Pillsbury™ Sugar Cookie Dough (the chub), they are #madeathome #ad

Guys, I actually squealed out loud at Walmart this week because my favorite holiday cookie dough is back!

And Des high-fived me. I kept telling him how badly I wanted to bake cookies. To me, getting into the holiday season is sort of a “thing.” It’s that first sound of a holiday song. It’s the feeling of warm candle-light and the first December snowflake. It’s the smell of cookies baking. I was specifically looking for the Pillsbury™ Sugar Cookies 30 oz. Chub. Walmart has it!

This was the first year that Scarlet wrote our family holiday bucket list. In her awesome eight-year-old handwriting, she wrote our family wishes and dreams for a happy and healthy holiday season. Considering all that we have done – and we have done a LOT – there was something on our list this year we’d never done before: “Make a new kind of holiday cookie.”

And our Winter Blizzard Sugar Cookies are SO GOOD!

Bake your Pillsbury™ Sugar Cookies until they’re golden brown and then add fun winter holiday-inspired designs. We got white chocolate chips, light blue chocolate melts, blue sugar, blue and white sprinkles and snowflake sprinkles. Once you slice the cookies and put them on a baking sheet, add white chocolate chips and blue and white sprinkles. Press them into the dough. Then, dip a glass into a little sugar and press each cookie down with it a little. Sprinkle on the blue sugar, and bake for the time given on the package – 11-14 minutes. While the cookies are baking, melt the blue chocolate melts per package instructions and drizzle a little over each cookie. Let them dry, and then enjoy your pretty, wintry, holiday cookies!

This is how we kick off the holiday baking season. I’m happiest when the oven is on and warming the kitchen – with the smell of Pillsbury™ wafting out into the rest of the house. I love that the product takes out all the guesswork and time of mixing a giant bowl of dough. I simply slice the cookie dough, add my favorite fixings, and bake! They come out perfectly each time.

Pillsbury™ is a trusted brand and their products can’t be beat. Baking at home is a memory I will have forever from my childhood. And now my kids have it too. I don’t think my son will ever forget me squealing out loud and high-fiving him when I saw the Pillsbury™ Sugar Cookies 30 oz. Chub at Walmart. It’s been nearly a year! It’s exciting to see it and to know that it’s time to bake. I love that my daughter helped create the cookie idea of Holiday Season 2017. No doubt we’ll make many!

So what about you? Do you have one signature cookie you make every year, like I did as a kid with my mom? Or do you like to mix it up and choose a new one every year. Scarlet especially loved this design because it kicks off the holiday season, but can be used all winter long. And it’s so pretty and easy to shop for! The decorations made us happy. So creative!
